Didn't Jehovah assign Christ all power & authority? So why no mention of him?

From the January 2025 Study Watchtower:

    Give Glory to Jehovah

STUDY ARTICLE 1, SONG 2 Jehovah Is Your Name

OUR YEARTEXT FOR 2025: “Give Jehovah the glory due his name.”—PS. 96:8

    HOW WOULD YOU ANSWER?

What does it mean to give Jehovah glory?

What motivates us to give Jehovah glory?

How can we give Jehovah the glory he deserves?

A self-promotion of the org's brand-name/logo (Jehovah) while dismissing the torrent of Scriptures to the contrary.

From my Bible research and what I can discern, God Almighty wants his Son's name witnessed about, relied upon, and praised - at least for 1000 years!

(Matthew 10:18) ....before governors and kings for my sake, for a witness....

(Mark 13:9) ...be put on the stand......for my sake, for a witness to them.

(Luke 24:48) You are to be witnesses of these things.

(John 1:15) John bore witness about him, (Jesus)

(John 5:37) And the Father who sent me has himself borne witness about me.

(John 8:18) ...bears witness about myself, and the Father..bears witness about me.”

    (John 15:26, 27) the spirit of the truth...bear witness about me;

(Acts 1:8) ..witnesses of me in Jerusalem,.....the most distant part of the earth.”

(Acts 9:15, 16) But the Lord said to him: “Go! because this man is a chosen vessel to me to bear my name [Jesus] to the nations as well as to kings and the sons of Israel. For I will show him plainly how many things he must suffer for my name.” [Jesus]

(Acts 10:39) And we are witnesses of all the things he did.......

(Acts 10:43) To him all the prophets bear witness....

(Acts 13:31) .......These are now his witnesses to the people.

(Acts 22:15) ...because you are to be a witness for him (Jesus) to all men......

(Acts 22:20) ...and when the blood of Stephen your witness...

(Acts 23:11) ....witness about me in Jerusalem,.....also bear witness in Rome.”

    (Acts 26:16) .....a witness.......respecting me.

(1 Corinthians 1:6) ...the witness about the Christ has been made firm among you,

(1 Timothy 2:6, 7) ...this is what is to be witnessed to in its own due time.

(2 Timothy 1:8) ....the witness about our Lord.......

(1 John 5:9) ....this is the witness God gives, the witness.....about his Son.

(Revelation 1:9) ......bearing witness concerning Jesus.

(Revelation 12:17) ....have the work of bearing witness concerning Jesus.

(Revelation 17:6) ......and with the blood of the witnesses of Jesus.

(Revelation 19:10) ....witnessing concerning Jesus...the witness concerning Jesus...”

(Revelation 20:4) ...for the witness they gave about Jesus......

The perfect Jesus Christ was assigned to be God's witness, and in turn, imperfect Christians were assigned to be witness of their Messiah.

(Revelation 1:5) "....Jesus Christ, “the Faithful Witness,”

(Revelation 3:14) "....the faithful and true witness.."

(Revelation 19:11) "And the one seated on it is called Faithful and True,.."

The Bible repeatedly shows that Christians were never to do anything in/for God's name. The following verses show that Christ's name alone was always to be the priority for Christians:

(Isa. 62:2) ...a new name.....Jehovah’s own mouth will designate. (see Acts 11:26)

(Matthew 5:11) “Happy are you when people...say every sort of wicked thing against you for my sake.

(Matthew 12:21) Indeed, in his name nations will hope.”

(Matthew 10:22) And you will be hated by all people on account of my name,......

(Matthew 18:5) …receives one such young child on the basis of my name receives me also.

(Matthew 18:20) For where there are two or three gathered together in my name,....

(Matthew 19:29) .......for the sake of my name......will inherit everlasting life.

(Matthew 24:5) ...for many will come on the basis of my name,... (Matthew 24:9) .......and you will be hated by all the nations on account of my name. (Mark 9:37) ...on the basis of my name....

(Mark 9:39) ….will do a powerful work on the basis of my name...

(Mark 13:6) Many will come on the basis of my name,...

(Luke 9:48) Whoever receives this young child on the basis of my name receives me also.

(Luke 9:49) ….we saw someone expelling demons by using your name.

(Luke 10:17) “...even the demons are made subject to us by the use of your name.”

(Luke 21:8) ...for many will come on the basis of my name,...

(Luke 21:12) ......brought before kings and governors for the sake of my name.

(Luke 21:16, 17) .......and you will be hated by all people because of my name.

(Luke 24:47) ...and on the basis of his name, repentance for forgiveness of sins would be preached...

(John 2:23) .....many people put their faith in his name........

(John 5:27) .....in which all those in the memorial tombs will hear his voice..

(John 14:26) But the helper, the holy spirit, which the Father will send in my name,

(John 15:16) ......no matter what you ask the Father in my name,

(Acts 2:38) Repent, and let each one of you be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ

(Acts 3:6) In the name of Jesus Christ the Nazarene, walk!”

(Acts 4:10) .....in the name of Jesus Christ the Nazarene,

(Acts 5:40) . . .and ordered them to stop speaking on the basis of Jesus’ name.

(Acts 5:41) ....counted worthy to be dishonored in behalf of his name.

(Acts 9:14-16) .....all those calling on your name.....he must suffer for my name.”

(Acts 10:48) .....he commanded them to be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ.

(Acts 11:26) ..........the disciples were by divine providence called Christians.

(Acts 16:18) “I order you in the name of Jesus Christ to come out of her.”

(Acts 19:5) On hearing this, they got baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus.

(Acts 21:13) ...but also to die at Jerusalem for the name of the Lord Jesus.....

(Acts 22:16) ....get baptized, and wash your sins away by your calling on his name.’

(1 Corinthians 6:11) ...been declared righteous in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ.

(2 Corinthians 5:15) .....no longer for themselves, but for him who died for them.

(Philippians 2:10) .....so that in the name of Jesus every knee should bend......

(Hebrews 13:15) Through him (Jesus) let us always offer to God a sacrifice of praise, that is, the fruit of our lips that make public declaration to his* name.

(Revelation 2:3) ....and you have borne up for my name’s sake...

(Revelation 2:13) ......and yet you keep on holding fast my name,. . .

    * Jesus' name was to be "publicly declared" and the focus for Christtian's - not Jehovah's name. This is clearly proven by the 43 "name" scriptures & the 27 "witness" scriptures above. Confirming this truth, Romans 10:17 says this, "So faith follows the thing heard. In turn, what is heard is through the word about Christ." (not Jehovah!)

Repetitition for emphasis! (for newbies who never knew Christians were to be witnesses for Christ)

If any JW reads all these scriptures, they must be deeply disturbed by the org's name of Jehovah's Witnesses. Surely?

The most awkward thing is when they refer to themselves as "Jehovah's Christian Witnesses." It's as if they realize how glaring the omission is, but they are stuck with the JW name. So they occasionally slip in "Christian" as a way to remind themselves that Jesus is a part of the belief system.

Why are you making an issue out of something that is not a problem?

The yeartext is from the Psalms where there was not Jesus yet. So how can it mention him?

FYI, In Acts 1:6 Jesus said "you will be witnesses of me in Jerusalem, in all Ju·deʹa and Sa·marʹi·a, and to the most distant part of the earth" because the people to whom he was speaking, actually witnessed him say and do things.

Thus it would not apply to us today, because we didn't witness him do or say anything. Reading it in a book does not make any of us witnesses to what Jesus said and did. It's hard to believe that people don't understand that simple concept. Which is a totally different concept from Isaiah 43:10-12 of being Witnesses of Jehovah. But hey, people will complain just to complain.

According to JW's, Jesus is just a lowly angel that somehow created the whole universe.

Oh, and appparently he can raise himself from the dead, while he is dead according to scripture.

We haven't witnessed Jehovah do anything either, it was only the nation of Israel who did, and the Egyptians I guess.

So they're witnesses of nothing at all then.

Recycled articles updated. They have never highlighted Jesus and apparently, do not intend too. All the hype about new song, assembly talks, memorial talk, mean diddly to them (GB). They have taken over Jesus spot as second in command and placed the GB as the spokesmen for Yahweh/Jehovah. They are placing themselves, once again, as prophets- but still don't get it right. The holy spirit works not on them since they threw the holy spirit out.

Extreme physical abuse is another basis for separation. Suppose an unbelieving mate often gets drunk, becomes enraged, and causes the believer physical harm. (Proverbs 23:29-35) Through prayer and by displaying the fruitage of Jehovah’s spirit, the believer may be able to prevent such outbursts and make the situation endurable. But if the point is reached where the health and life of the abused mate actually are in jeopardy, separation would be allowable Scripturally. Again, congregation elders should look into charges of physical abuse when two Christians are involved in the troubled marriage, and disfellowshipping action may have to be taken (not report to police!)

Yet, what if a very unhealthy spiritual state exists where both mates are believers? The elders should render assistance, but especially should the baptized husband work diligently to remedy the situation. Of course, if a baptized marriage partner acts like an apostate and tries to prevent his mate from serving Jehovah, the elders should handle matters according to the Scriptures. If disfellowshipping takes place in a case involving absolute endangerment of spirituality, willful nonsupport, or extreme physical abuse, the faithful Christian who seeks a legal separation would not be going against Paul’s counsel about taking a believer to court.
