Who was the most admirable but dedicated witness from your congregation?
I remember an old lady who becme a Witness in her 60s. It was great doing service with her.
She only knew one way to Preach and that was to let the householder have it...Real fire and brimstone..The householder had no chance to reply...and probobly very little understanding of what she was on about or who she represented.
I admired her because I could see she was Shit Scared of the service(A real gentle soul).and the above example was the only way she could handle the service.
Her family thought she was Mad to beome a Witness......And she was just a nice person.
Probably the Elder I studied with. He went to prison in the 40s for not going to war. He also had the largest collection of WT literature I've ever seen. He was always assigned to do weddings, funerals, and ending prayers. His prayers dragged on too long. He was always out in Service and had the money to buy fancy cars.
Lots of people hated him - especially the ones who worked for him (me included). He was a cheap bastard, but didn't get cheap when putting money in the contribution box - $50 bills.
Apparently he just had an aneurysm. He's not dead yet, but I don't plan on going to his funeral. I could go on and on about this man and how much of a devout JW he was. He treated me horribly after I left.
