I can't remember the details now but I saw a documentary that showed how evolutionary principles were applied in finding engineering solutions.
I guess I believe in evolution but apparently not in that BS

This is a similar process to how a lot of "machine learning" works - as long as you re-enforce the desired behaviour the neural network can learn to respond better.
It's actually amazing what can be done with just a few "neurons" and connections between them - the difference with the human brain is that we have orders of magnitudes more ... for now.
Also, it shows how repetition and practice and reinforce your abilities to perform some task - it's about strengthening those connections!
