I was thinking what is the position taken where a community almost depends on cocain production to survive. Where almost everyone is directly or indirectly involved in in it. What is the situation with witnesses who live in those areas. Is a blind eye given to it. Anyone with info I'd be interested to hear.
What is the situation with JWs in countries where cocain is produced

I don't know about those areas, but it would seem to be a parallel situation to when the WTS banned tobacco use for its adherents in the early 70's.
There were some JW tobacco farmers in the southern US. When the edict came out, they were given the same option as smokers - 6 months to "transition" then you'd have to be DF'ed.
I don't know any old JW tobacco farmers personally, but I imagine there was a lot of grief when they had to choose between keeping the family farm, or being DF'ed if they didn't sell it.
So I imagine it to be similar for cocaine - pick a different line of work, or get DF'ed.

I don't think it would be as difficult to avoid cocaine as tobacco. Tobacco was a legal business cocaine a criminal endeavor with severe penalties by the criminals involved and the police if you were caught.
And lets not forget the position the WTBTS takes .............the real offense is that you have to sit around tables full of cocaine half or fully naked. Now that's the real offense you would be DFed for!

They go hungry, I'd imagine.

They would probably refrain from it but there is such a thing as a hypocrite JWS particularly when money is involved.

Haven`t the WTB&TS got investments that have ties to the tobacco industry ? I seem to remember something brought up in the past that prove they do ?
