Just think about it. Jehovah's Witnesses and other fundy groups think the world has evil in it because of

    Invisible men!

Think about that next time you need a good laugh.

It would be funny if it weren't so incredibly tragic.

    Logansrun,

funny you should mention this. My youngest daughter who is 11 years old came from church (non denominational) and started asking really good questions about adam and eve, and was this true, cause it didnt sound right to her.

We began to discuss the topic, and I showed her in the bible (NIV) where "god called man (mankind, aka humankind) adam (the hebrew word for mankind)

They were teaching her the old fake story of a man called adam you see.

So she read it, using the footnotes and concluded that the story is not literal, and sees that interpretation is key!

Isnt that great! She is only a child, and uses critical reasoning!

I am very happy for her. No led astray there.

When you think about it, all aspects of our lives are affected by "invisible men" (and women). I was thinking about this just this morning, about how angry I can get at the opinions of others posted on the net, especially the trolls. I was thinking how ridiculous it was to give power to those faceless s***-stirrers, that I've never met and never will, by getting angry and letting my day be ruined. And I thought further about how much that governs my life, in the rules and regs that I follow every day, either consciously or in consequence of decisions previously made, forms previously signed, etc., has been put into place and enacted by people I'll probably never meet and over whom I have no sway. We think we have control over our lives, but so much of what we do and even are is the result of the impact of "invisible men" who affect us personally, while being hardly affected at all by us.

I suppose I could break into a chorus of Pictures of Matchstick Men, particularly the "...All I ever see is them and you" line, but I'm all done here.

These invisible men (or other types of creatures...e.g. invisible ant-eaters) have affected even the staunchest of athiests! Think about it! For example, if you live in a Western culture (i.e. most of this board) to get married, you have to do it according to the way an invisible MAN (who nobody has any scientifically repeatable proof of) "said" you should!

Yup, it's pretty said, but what can you do? You might as well try to fight against human sexuality or try not to breathe...

Yep, and even defending the fear and delusion to the death, discarding their own children, for an image (in their mind) of a god who is less than a man - a beast.

Men worshiped the dragon, for he had given his authority to the beast, and they worshiped the beast, saying, "Who is like the beast, and who can fight against it?"

    The question is, why?
