    G'day all!

How's the week been going for you? Many of us have been looking forward to the weekend just to re-charge our exhausted batteries ..... or to finish reading that great new book "The Four Presidents of the Watch Tower Society". Mrs Ozzie and I have been taking it in turns to read each chapter. Well, that's what she says! I reckon a battle has taken place to fight over who gets it first!! It's a great read and a good addition to the "must reads" for dubs who want to learn the truth about "The Troof". You can get it from Freeminds. Check out the Freeminds site for details.

With that, I thought we should get down to some serious 'stuff' in this weekend's poll.

Remember how back in the 70s we started to hear a lot about a "spiritual paradise"? Many dubs were suspicious at the time that it was concocted to take our minds away from the failure of the 1975 prophecy. It went something like this, where the WTS says: "Many were looking forward to 1975 to see the realisation of their hope of an earthly paradise. Some disloyal ones have tried to sow seeds of doubts about this but all true christians are enjoying a spiritual paradise right now!"

So, what about this so-called "spiritual paradise"?

What we'd like to know this weekend is:

If the Dubs have a spiritual paradise, why did you leave?

    1. I wanted "the real thing".

    2. I got spiritual amnesia and forgot the way to the Kingdom Hall.

    3. There was a spiritual drought and no spiritual food grew.

    4. I found I wasn't safe in the "spiritual paradise".

    5. I knew I wasn't secure in the "spiritual paradise".

    6. "Paradise"????? What paradise?

    7. I wasn't a member of the special privileges class so it didn't apply to me.

    8. I got a different dictionary and found that the WTS' "spiritual paradise" = slavery.

    9. I found that the Watchtower's roadmap (NWT) had some false signs in it.

    10. After the "generation" fiasco, I realised it was all a delusion.

    11. Other (please detail)

So there it is, good people. Care to share your thoughts? We look forward to reading them.

    Enjoy.

    Cheers, Ozzie

#8. I would always try to think of the scripture "he that endures to the end will be saved" and wonder how long we had to endure. Sheeeeeesh, the load of that spiritual paradise? was so burdensome, its really a surprise we all didn't go crazy!!

Boy the freedom felt when I realized it was all a bunch of hoooey (is that word?) the load truely became light!!

Now I can just look at those poor JW's left behind and shake my head for all that they have to endure.

As JT used to say "do more, do more, beat the friends, beat the friends". Yep, that's their moto.

*Waving @ Ozzie & Mrs. Ozzie. We are reading that book, too.

    11. If this is "spiritual paradise", I don't want to be anywhere near the actual thing. YUK.

I remember hearing people say if eternal life means having to be surrounded by Jehovah's Witnesses, then they didn't want eternal life. I always thought that was silly. Then as "truth" became clearer I began to understand what they meant. Eternal life at what cost?

How's it going Ozzie? It's a beautiful day here in the Pacific NW. Steve took off this morning for a bike ride on the Kitsap Peninsula. It includes a stunning ferry ride across Puget Sound with an amazing view of the Olympic Mountains, Mt Baker to the north and Mt Rainier to the south. Temp is a cool 50F.

I found rational thinking and the ability to think on my own. To many block heads and I hated being told what to think and what to do and who to do it with!

    Hey Oz!

I'd say, 1-10! Can I do that? All of them pretty much sum up my feelings! You nailed it but good!

    Thanks cyberguy!

The first ten pretty much summed up what I've heard from those who've learned the truth about "The Troof" but I'm sure there's more. Just look at the posts here to see some. But now, I wonder, in which order should we put them?

    Cheers, Ozzie

11 - I grew to realize that just having 6 million people (drones) repeating "this is a spiritual paradise" did not change the fact that we were mentally gagged and bound and in slavery.

One man's spiritual paradise is another man's solitary confinement.

The phrase "spiritual paradise" was first used by Knorr in 1958 at the international convention that year. Seeing over 250,000 JWs in one city probably made him think that was paradise. Not me.
