They will tell lies about you.

On a wet afternoon, there's nothing to do but give advice! Many readers of this board (otherwise known as "lurkers") may have been drawn to a position where their doubts have culminated in a desire to leave the "false truth" of the WTS.

Are you one of those? Downunder we have some (many?) who are in that position. They worry about making that final step, the declaration of what is in their minds and hearts, that the WTS is a "false prophet". What stops you? Perhaps it's the fear of being cut off from your loved ones. There is no easy answer for this. You've heard however the expression "no gain without pain" and that surely applies in this case. The reality is that there is no easy way of leaving the Borg.

There is something else the WTS will do that may cause you pain. It will lie about you. This is well described in the new publication "The Four Presidents of the Watch Tower Society". It's standard practice for this organisation to protect its interests by lying about anyone who they see as a 'threat'. Here downunder we've seen in the past leaders, former directors of the Watch Tower Society, slandered and maligned. For example, one who had not associated for some time was visited by a Bethel representative and informed that an announcement of his disassociation would be made because "he had taken a stand aginst the Society." Nothing of the sort had taken place. But the flock believed it. All manner of lies and distortions are spoken about those who leave. In a sense, it has to be that way. The WTS can only protect itself by resorting to desparate measures.

Please be aware that there is no alternative to this. It has to be. Will you be able to survive? Yes, many have gone before you as examples and many, with God's help, have found the road to freedom and truth. Lies no more affect them.

This should not be a suprise considering the WTS lie about God and His son all the time. They do it to them, they will do it to you! Maverick

    Amen, Brother Ozzie.

And what do scared, "loyal" JW's want to think? They want to believe the lies. It makes it easier to hate the ones who left woke up.

    Hugs,

And this is the judgment, that the light has come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil.

But some wanting to leave the Watchtower Organization still believe in God and Probably will leave only when they will find another religion to take up the vacant space.

And this is the judgment, that the light has come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil.

And how DARE you apply this to Jehovahs Witnesses!

    WAIT!

Most don't even see they're works as being "evil". They preach as the "early christians" do house to house preaching of the end of the world.

Too bad that not all christians preached. Any half-hearted study of the scriptures, complimented by a simple history lesson will tell you this. They speak of other religions twisting the scriptures, yet they do this each and every day to millions of people, and they have they're heads in the sand.

"all will know my disciples if they have love amongst themselves". I love those Awake! magazines that have "life experiences" that show the true quality of Christian Love... Are they true? Yes, riddled with half truths, probably. How many shining examples do you see in your own "congregations of christian Jehovahs Witnesses" (tm). The lack of love is something to be felt first-hand, rather than explained away.

    Good post.

There is life after the Watchtower - I'm proof of that, and look at all the happy, loving, cult-free people on this board!

They will lie about you, that is true. After I left, the elders did not know anything about how I lived my life, but they did counsel people in the congregation not to associate with me. I wonder what made them do that? Maybe it was because I had a private conversation with the elders (2 of them) in which I voiced my doubts. They KNEW I hadn't told any dub any details of this (therefore I was not "apostate"), because a prominent dub told them that although I said I was doubting, I'd refused to go into detail in case I stumbled them. I guess then, they ostracised me just in case I changed my mind and became a "slanderer"? Thats almost like the film (is it minority report?) where they arrest people before they've done anything.

The good part is, I don't care anymore. Those who matter have kept in touch, and the rest can go jump!

You're right, Ozzie, about the lies they say. You know, I honestly don't care what they will say about me... whatever they need to tell themselves to get through another day is fine with me.

What stops me from leaving right now is my family. Like I read on another post yesterday, it's like I've picked my poison, and right now it's complying to my family's wishes instead of doing what I want to do. It's temporary, though, and later, my poison will be getting cut off from my family. Either way, it's not great.

    yes they will lie....

and we must just live our lives to the fullest and most productive ( keep a smile!) and show them all for the liars that they are.

The best revenge is to get on and actually enjoy your life---that really gets them because they realize they are wrong and cannot do anything to control you or dampen your spirit.
