DNC update and request.

  The DNC site is approaching its final format. Arrangements are in place to have it enabled to accept online payments for memberships soon. Importantly, this will include an affiliate scheme for other quality sites such as AJWRB, Silentlambs, Freeminds, Watchtower-Observer and, of course, Jehovahs-Witness.com

  We should definitely work together and I hope that for my part the DNC project will be able to provide some level of funding, however modest, to individuals like Simon, Randy and others who give of themselves so freely.

  As mentioned in an earlier post I have set September 1st as the public launch of the site. Go and see it before then by all means but please don’t spread the word around until it’s ready. Thanks.

  YOU CAN HELP!
  I need short articles written on a variety of topics – let’s be honest, that’s just what most of us do here anyway.

  The articles can be anywhere between 200-500 words [ish].
  They must include references to WT material as support for assertions made [‘though if you can’t find them I’ll probably be able to help].
  They need to be framed with the PUBLIC in mind – there is no need for scriptural refutation of Watchtower doctrine - no one cares!!

  Even topics like; “Dinosaurs were vegetarians and coexisted with humans!” can be valuable as they demonstrate the mental laziness, gullibility and blind acceptance that are engendered by WT membership.

  Here a few topics you might consider writing on;

  · ‘Paedophilia and the Watchtower’
  · ‘Oral sex – forbidden!’
  · ‘Women – know your place!’
  · ‘Children and Armageddon’
  · ‘Money and the Watchtower’

  And all the others that I’m sure you’ll think of.

  Please remember, editorialise but don’t sensationalize. We want the public to see us as credible and reasonable; there is no faster way to ruin our reputation than to appear as fanatical – we can leave that to the dubs.

  There’ll be other requests to come but this will do for now. Thanks in advance for your assistance.

  You know I'm supportive of your efforts, but I just clicked onto the DNC website earlier this morning before your post appeared.

  Will the general public CARE that Jehovah's Witnesses aren't supposed to practice oral sex? I think not. I think, rather, that seeing that topic on page one would be a "Conversation Stopper" (LOL!) and might make someone want to think twice about subscribing.

  I fully realize that this teaching was a major thorn in the side of many Witness couples -- especially those with unbelieving mates -- but do we really want to invade the bedroom as the WTS does?

  Perhaps someone could write an article under the personal experiences area that touches on how this prohibition caused intermarital strife, but IMHO it does not belong under the educating the public area on the home page.

  While the general public might not give a rat's patootie about whether Jehovah's Witnesses can indulge in oral sex or any other specific thing, I do think that there is an awful lot of intelligence about the Witnesses that may be imputed to the Dubs via knowledge of just this kind of arrogation of authority to intefere in the private lives of its members.

  If you combine knowledge that Jehovah's Witnesses can't: engage in oral sex; watch the smurfs; avoid garage sales; and on and on and on, this information can be correctly summed up to mean that individual JWs lives are intefered with and that the Borg is invasive.

  The public can be counted on, in other words, to put 2 and 2 together. But ya gotta give 'em the 2 and the 2 and perhaps a 3 and a 4 so they'll have something to add up.

  You say that JW's "can't avoid garage sales"? What makes you think that going to garage sales is a requirment.

  I would agree with outnfree though that the oral sex thing should be presented differently - maybe as part of 'the crazy beliefs and practices of JWs'.

  It may be best to present something from a never-a-JW point of view and do a warning like 'Cults are operating in your area' type article then a brief summary of what a cult is, why they are dangerous, why JWs are a cult and some of the things they are guilty of, how they will try to enslare loved ones, children etc...

  This will directly affect them rather than telling them what has affected us.

  Okay, your comments and suggestions have been taken on board.
  hank you for keeping me focused.

  The emphasis should of course be on informing the public of the threat to family stability, health and mental wellbeing that membership as one of Jehovah's Witnesses brings and, importantly, providing them with a means of relief from that threat.
