After reading Puternut's post "Interesting Visit" I wonder if his cong. is an isolated incident or not. I personally dont know of any pedophile elders, but I'm sure there are some in my area. What would you say? Are sexually deviant elders more common than we think? Does anyone else have a story similar to Puternut's? I'd really like to know of incidents in Connecticut, with names. Mwaa, ha,ha,ha,ha,ha.

I would remind people that making accusations about people should not be done unless people are prepared to face the legal consequences. Only people who have been convicted of an offense should be named IMO.

No, my former congregation is not an isolated incident. Mind you, I have been an elder for 18 years and a PO 2 years out of that. I have known people from many circuits and districts and other congregations, due to the fact that I gave many talks everywhere. These reports are from all over the circuit and neighboring congregations. I also know now quite a few people that are ex Jw's and coming to me. I don't seek them out, out of respect for their stand. But I am known throughout this area, and many don't understand why I am out. Now they want answers.

No qusetion some elders are perverted -- I know they are obeying the WTBTS --but surely why all the intimate questions on JCs ("How long was your hand on sisters breast brother -- did you rub your finger over the nipple to make them go erect -what happened next -- remember to be repentant and not get disfellowshipped we need all the details") -- now I am absolutley some elders then go home and Jack - Off to what they have just heard (or have one off the wrist in memory of Onan if you prefer to keep it scriptural)
So sure you have many perverted elders

This phenomenon isn't limited to the JW's. In fact, the profile of a pedophilia includes someone with high standing or responsibilities in their church. Scary hu?!
Some churches now require background checks before you can work in the youth groups - I think that's a good idea. I also have taught my daughter that she NEVER leaves the group with anyone. If a teacher wants her to leave the group and go with them alone she is to tell them NO and go tell another teacher that it is her mom's rule not to leave the group.
So sad that we have to watch our kids everywhere - even at school and church.
