Where do jws get off with changing the gospel to read "this means my body" ?

Because they don't like the idea of transubstantiation... or the idea of eating blood.

I say we break out the orthoscope and solve this mystery once and for all!

So drinking (eating) a "symbol" for blood (life) at the memorial by the ELITE !! is ok consumption

BUT using the oxygen carrying liquid needed to save your actual "life" given by the creator is a sin so OFFENSIVE to the JW god that you should die instead -and this is logical because of a couple of words in Acts? (never mind the context)

OR hanging wallpaper with a questionable pattern might stumble a brother so choose something else.

Everyone has a right to believe......blah blah. So what if it comes from deceptive - malicious or not - tactics.

Doesn't a fellow human also have a duty to inform the ignorant as to how one is set up and comes to believe in such medival lore?

Therefore the Jews began contending with one another, saying: "How can this man give us his flesh to eat?" 53 Accordingly Jesus said to them: "Most truly I say to YOU, Unless YOU eat the flesh of the Son of man and drink his blood, YOU have no life in yourselves. 54 He that feeds on my flesh and drinks my blood has everlasting life, and I shall resurrect him at the last day; 55 for my flesh is true food, and my blood is true drink. 56 He that feeds on my flesh and drinks my blood remains in union with me, and I in union with him. 57 Just as the living Father sent me forth and I live because of the Father, he also that feeds on me, even that one will live because of me. 58 This is the bread that came down from heaven. It is not as when YOUR forefathers ate and yet died. He that feeds on this bread will live forever." 59 These things he said as he was teaching in public assembly at Ca·per´na·um

As I started to look at what the Bible really says, as opposed to what the Society teaches, this is one of the first anomalies I came across. Literally John wrote ?this is my body?. Likewise, the NWT translates John 17:3 as ?this means everlasting life? instead of ?this is everlasting life?.

This came as a bit of a shock to me who had been brought up to believe the NWT was a simple, accurate translation, with little or no spin on it. But the Society is master at writing things which are either misleading or vague. Watchtower

?Although some Bible translations say ?this is [Greek estin] my body,? Thayers Greek-English Lexicon ?..?

What implication are they making to the average Witness by say ?some?. To me reading that indicates that some (a few) read ?this is? but the majority read ?this means?. Actually, the complete opposite is true; the majority read ?this is?.
