WHAT MAKES THEM TICK?
I think JWs favorite scripture and story is the one about Abraham preparing to kill his son, Isaac. For righteousness' sake and for God. 'What a holy man'.
That scripture and story, when cleverly used, break the parent-child bond, this deepest and most spiritual love and connection to life and to God, our very existence and our future.
They are clever beyond belief, but they use this story to entice JWs to believe the blood transfusion bunk. The revered word of a bunch of elderly men in Brooklyn, whose names they don't even know. They then believe, with all their hearts, that God WANTS them to sit back and watch their children die, rather than to save their life, even when that power to save that life is at their very finger tips.
They hold this belief for themselves and they hold it for everyone they know, as well.
I believe the second most favorite scripture and story of JWs is the one where Lot gave his daughters to the angels to have sex with. Or gave them to a group of visiting strangers for their sexual pleasure. I don't recall the details exactly, but it was along those lines. He gave away his daughters for sexual pleasure, just as casually as if he were offering a tired neighbor a cup of coffee or a papercup half-filled with punch from a backyard BQ.
And the daughters, like Isaac, coopertated fully, probably esteemed to play a role in this Godly act.
The second scripture they never talk about. Tho I wonder what they might say if you asked them outright (or in public) what exactly was the JW point of view on this story.
But once you sell them on these two, there is NO LIMIT to what you can get them to do.
