Here is some sage advice from the WTBTS! On page 23 of the May 15th, 2001 Watchtower, in an article entitled 'Building a spiritually strong family' Paragraph 9 says the following.

There are dozens of magazines, hundreds of books, and thousands of internet websites offering advice on how to rear children. Very often "the information conflicts" says a Newsweek special issue on children. "Even more disconcerting is when information you think you can trust turns out to be just plain wrong" How thankful we are that Jehovah has provided abundantly for the instruction and spiritual development of families! Do you take full advantage of all the provisions made by the faithful and discreet slave class?-Matthew 24:45-47

LOL! "Even more disconcerting is when information you think you can trust turns out to be just plain wrong" Disconcerting indeed dear Governing body!

They accuse others of not having the proper information, when it is they themselves that don't have it.

As the saying goes: when someone is guilty of something, he'll accuse someone else of that crime, mirroring that off of someone else so that they don't feel as bad about it themselves.

Simply amazing how the WTS doesn't see itself for what it really is. Amazing and sad since they control the lives of so many people, most of whom really want to serve god.

    G'day betweenworlds,

I don't think we've met before, so welocme to this happy home.

Even more disconcerting is when information you think you can trust turns out to be just plain wrong
They are very bold with it, aren't they?

Did you notice this statement on pages 4 and 5 of the same issue:

All of us appreciate this gift of free will because we do not want all our thoughts and actions dictated to us without ever having a choice in anything.
Hmmm.... I wonder how this 'gels' with the statement found in the February 15, 2001 issue on page 22 "And are you 'seeking meekness' by displaying a meek, submissive attitude toward God and his arrangements for salvation?"

    Cheers,
Ozzie (of the truth in advertising class)

Hey Ozzie Thanks for the welcome

I know! I find it so amazing now when reading the magazines how many cases there are of the pot calling the kettle black! A few years ago I wouldn't have even noticed, but now they pop off the page, glaring in their hypocrisy. Amazing what one can see with out a blindfold over ones eyes

Glad to be free to see....

But why does the Writing Department keep on making statements like these? What is the effect on millions of innocent Jehovah's Witnesses who will take their words as those of God? Innocent people who, like the people of Nineveh, do not know their right from left? Ha! It's either that I begin to doubt my sanity or the existence of Truth. SIGH. So who knows the Truth??

    Hello all

I think that it all boils down to just one thing:

The bible warns us about judging others. The JW's say that they are the ones with the truth, and everyone else is wrong. That's being judgemental, isn't it? Everyone believes they have the truth, and really no one knows who does. So we just have to wait and see when Jehovah decides it's time to give us the answer. I think many people, especially the JW's will be suprised.
    My Regards,
    Joanne
