Yesterday someone asked for suggestions for their one year anniversary..... Mine is coming up in just a couple of weeks (March 25th) and we are going to Dallas for the weekend............Any suggestions on cool things to do while we are there? Cool places to eat?

Oh, my! Congratulations! What type of things do you like to do? Dallas is a way cool city with lots of fun stuff. Where are you staying? (PM me if you don't want to post everything about your weekend or if you want my phone number so we can talk!) If you're in the downtown area, there are lots of romantic restaurants, so let me know a price range and I'll whip up a list. Antares is a revolving restaurant on top of Reunion Tower and that's very romantic. The food is okay but very high-priced -- you're paying for the atmosphere. Palomino's at The Crescent is also pretty upscale but their food is excellent (try a mojito to start with -- it's a Cuban rum drink -- and the crab dip appetizer).

North Dallas/Addison has some impressive restaurants like Lawry's The Prime Rib, Blue Fish, Benihana's, Three Forks, P.F. Chang's.

    Again, congratulations!!!

Desi, my sister and her husband live next to Dallas, and we visited them awhile back. The area is big, and Dallas and Fort Worth shoot up out of the ground like splinters (view from plane). Plenty of all types of eatery's, but be sure to check out the steak houses. They fix steaks like no one else.

We aren't your typical tourists as far as going to museums and stuff. My husband did enjoy visiting the brand new Boy Scout headquarters, as he is a lifelong member and an Eagle. We enjoyed searching for and finding the estate where the miniseries, "Dallas" was filmed. We didn't take the tour. Beautiful country, with lots and lots of large ranch homes. Funny, I expected to see lots more dust devils and tumble weed.

We thought the road designs were magnificent. Roads curving above roads, above other roads, and still climbing. Never saw anything quite like that around here.

Have a great time. Congratulations on your Anniversary!!

    Nina...

    I sent you a PM. :)

    Sentinel....

Head a little bit farther west for some tumble weeds...:) I grew up in Midland, TX and there are plenty of them around there. I, too, love the roads in Dallas...hehe, with the exception of when my husband is driving on them....:)

Hey, you should've waved! Big Tex and I live just down the road from Southfork.
