A friend just passed along this information.

If you've wished that you could create PDF files for document distribution but have been discouraged by the high price of the full version of Adobe Acrobat, check out PDF995

I have not used this program myself, so I cannot vouch for its value. If you decide to look into it and use it, please let the rest of us know what you think of it.

Neat. I've uses the 5D printer driver that works pretty well (not sure if you can still get it, it may have changed name)

I have a free PDF editor too that's quite good - great for filling out and saving complicated PDF forms (such as immigration)

I've used the PDF995 program for a while now. It works beautifully and is very user friendly.

I've also used the PDF printer. It installs as a printer. When you want to create the pdf file instead of printing to your printer you tell it to print to the pdf printer. It saves the file as a pdf file. Very easy to use.

    yeah, this works well.

Anything that you can view and print from your screen, you can convert into PDF.

    ALERT !!!!

I just talked to two people from the board, and both were using Windows XP. It totally crashed their systems, and have to reformat, and reinstall their systems.

Beware of anything that you download. Make sure it's compatable with your system. Or wait for comments from others.

I have XP and it works well with mine. However, I just attempted to install it on a machine with win98 and it won't install. No crashing going on, but it's just not working for me on this PC.

    Bummer....

I would think that the cause for the XP people is not the fact that they have xp, but rather it's clashing with other programs they may be running. It'd be my guess anyway.
