G'day all,
Looked at from afar this statement in the June 15 Watchtower takes on special meaning:
"It takes faith to recognize that Jehovah is the one teaching us through his earthly organisation"
It sure does take faith, doesn't it! Perhaps that should be incredulity!!
For those JWs who still cannot see this (still have scales over their eyes), note what God's Word says: "And as for you, the anointing that you received from him remains in you, and you do not need anyone to be teaching you, but, as the anointing from him is teaching you about all things, and is true and is no lie, and just as it has taught you, remain in union with him" -1 John 2:27
As Ron Rhodes writes, in his book "Reasoning from the Scriptures with the Jehovah's Witnesses" "Indeed, only a constant, unnbending stance against sin and total obedience to God (through obedience to the Watchtower Society) gives the Witness any hope of salvation."
So yes, it does take faith to believe that Jehovah teaches through the Watch Tower Society. But what type of faith?
Cheers,
Ozzie
