Interesting to see a survey of JWs to see how they are coping as a specie - are they facing extinction
Re survey simply sad - it is evident all around us from the lack of birds etc compared to my youth (years ago)

As in the decline of the 'peepers' and other frog species, it is a warning from the planet that life as we know it will soon end.
It's too bad that the 'powers that be' refuse to wake up and smell the coffee.

Mass extinctions have happened before on earth, and they will happen again.

I have long suspected that the earth was experiencing another mass extinction... it's just part of how the earth works. Many species will be purged and many new species will emerge.
Trying to stop this mass extinction would have the same effect as trying to stop forest fires... we all learned what the consequence of that is... huge devastating forest fires caused by there being far too much undergrowth. The same will happen if we do not allow nature to purge out these species... there will come a time where there will be a devastating mass extinction.
In the long run, mass extinctions are good? hell? we would not exist if the dinosaurs had not died off. Should there come a time where we all die off there will certainly be another species better than us that will emerge.

So sad that these beautiful creatures are fading away. When I was a child, butterflies were so plentify, especially the buttercup ones, a perfect bright yellow. When a butterfly lights on you, it is said you are receiving a blessing.
When we sight a monach around here now, it is quite rare. Also, there doesn't seem to be as many bees either.

I always take these "the sky is falling" reports with a grain of salt- I've been burned too many times by getting reactionary over such things. It may take decades for the truth to come out. It may be a natural, temporary setback, or it may be a a catastrophic endangerment or even extinction- time willl tell.
