Yes, I did...I hadn't been to one since the October Mini-fest (The delicious juxtapostion of commenting at a WT study followed by steak with Calamity Jane and the Texas Circuit), but I was in Okla. with my son visiting my dad and stepmom last Tuesday. My Dad (knowing I'm inactive) asked if I was going.
I said yes...I didn't want to start a fight.
So I went back to my old hall...boy has it SHRUNK. there were 50 at a TMS/SM...wereas before I could count on 90.
Some came up and said Hi. A few (who didn't know I was Inactive) asked how the hall down in my area was...""Not really friendly" was my reply. They asked how I was...I said never better and went on and on about my work and coaching. They also doted on my son. The Baby Badger is 6 years old and cute. I was also brutally honest with the changes in the past few years ("How did you like the last curcuit assembly, Badger?" "I wasn't really impressed with it
New P.O....someone with two kids (both Df'd, one for good.), a real negative streak and a busted Janitorial business.
New S.O....a really great guy, twice widowed.
New TMS overseer...younger than me and really smarmy.
My dad gave the Bible Reading talk. It was a sincere R&F talk, heavy on appreciation, very light on criticism. If the GB were like him, I could tolerate the religion.
My son drew. and got frustrated with the other talks. He covered up his ears and whispered "I can't hear myself think!" I nodded approval.
Afterward, I leaned into one of the few people there I really miss.
"Where the heck is everybody?"
She looked and sighed. " A lot moved away...some are getting old."
No Kidding.
