Almost as authentic as a Jerry Springer episode.

Okay, I will say how I can tell it is fake.

After watching it I suspected it wasnt real. I watched it a few times and thought of what might be a problem.

The first problem is the most obvious one. I played it back in my mind and remembered that the object hit the other burglar in the back of the head. The problem is that the trajectory of the object would have to be in an upward direction upon leaving the hand of the thrower. That is unnatural. I figured they probably just digitally made the ball go in the needed direction and did not account for initial trajectory. To my surprise they did account for initial trajectory. However they did it in the worst possible way. The thrower uses a tomahawk type throw, way over his head. This gives the needed initial elevation to have the ball stay high enough on the bounce to hit the other guy in the head.

The problem is this is a completely unnatural throwing motion. No one would throw like that. The second problem is with that kind of throw you generate almost no velocity. It would not hurt if the object bounced after the probable speed of that throw, if it was even enough to score a hit and stay airborne.

The second problem is why the two objects? And why dont you see the objects in the throwers hands? The thrower obviously assumes he can break the window. So why does he take two objects to throw?

Third problem. The object flies off their heads so much faster than before impact that it is obvious digital.

Fouth problem. The footage was cut to show speed of the burglars when struck. It is particularly obvious with the first guy, who also falls in an incredibly unnatural way with his one leg hanging behind him.

So in conclusion. The ball was not there. The splash on the window was added digitally. These guys are bad actors. The thrower would have been better off using a side arm throw in a slightly upward motion to get the needed trajectory. The object should have been rebounded as opposed to having a second magically appearing object.

    edit update

    another mistake they made:

the CAM:5 and IRC-2 identifiers are effected by the grainyness of the footage. That means the grain was added after the CAM:5 and IRC-2 was. They couldn't even get that right.

Authentic or not, it's still funnier than hell!
