Hi all you nice and fuzzy and sweet people---fine human beings! The term "fine human beings" is from East of Eden and I loved it (we are all fine human beings, I'm pretty sure about most of us anyway )

The new Al Franken radio show is available live on line---that's how i listen to it. http://www.airamericaradio.com/

I listened to Garafolo's show (another new Air America show) and I have to say that it was just polarizing BS the same way Rush Limbaugh is. I like talk radio, because I travel a lot and it's good ambient noise in my car, but I don't like preachers no matter what their religion. That would include Garafolo and Limbaugh. On the conservative end, G. Gordon Liddy is listenable for some reason. I'd like to hear Al Franken's show, because he was a very funny writter on SNL. I think Air America might just be election year advertizing masked well to avoid the McCain-Feingold Act penalties.

    Hi Git,

I think Air America might just be election year advertizing masked well to avoid the McCain-Feingold Act penalties.

And what would you think conservative talk radio would be? No, I take that back. I simply put up the notice as a public service type announcement.

What happened to Garafalo's hair? I don't have XM radio, maybe one day but I did stream it through the internet, and I wasn't really that impressed. Then again, I don't really like that much talk radio except for a little Stern and the car talk guys, and Fresh Air on NPR. Other than that, show me the music. Lately, I've been using the free music channels on ITunes which offer a wide selection with good streaming quality, more than I can say for Air America which kept breaking up.

Pre-existing programming. It started out on AM, which was and is cheap, and moved on to FM as broadcasters like Limbaugh were able to really pull in the advertising revenues. Conservatives were there first, when it comes to radiopolitik. Air America began with $30,000,000 from its private investors and say they can keep going for 3 years before they need to turn a proffit. We'll see. If Air America (odd they chose the title of CIA's old secret airline) closes after November, then it was election year strategy stuff with Democrat backers.

I started off the year in the "anybody but bush" camp, but this infighting and a choice between two republicrat candidates (oil man and ketchup-king) have driven me back off to the third parties again. I'm joining the libertarian party. Neil Boortz has a good radio show.

Atilla, I agree.. Fresh Air and Car Talk are great.

I have listened to this station via the net and can't say I'm going to in the future. I'm not recommending it, but I do recommend a far better one, imo, that is factual and a news program rather than a lot of editorializing is Democracy Now on Pacifica Radio and their other programs. It's on the FM dial and can be listened to on the net at:

I listen to this one regularly. It's the other side of the news that uses mostly regular news media sources, but also has very interesting interviews with people like Republicans, returning soldiers who have strange maladies which are being attributed to DU, etc., etc.
