I am planning a trip to Las Vegas in a few months, noticed Elton John will be there. I have always wanted to see him in concert.
Has anyone here been to any of the shows there? What would you consider a must see or do while in Vegas?

I'm not sure, but I've heard the Siegfried and Roy show bites. Cirque de Soleil is a pretty bright little round of fun. And Elton John... well he's a gay guy in a feather suit, but I do like his music.

I love Las Vegas!!!
I have a trip planned there May 8-9. Have my tickets to the Elton John show on Saturday, and HIM at the House of Blues Sunday.
p.s. I've NEVER lost in Vegas. I always come back with much more money than I took. Unless I piss it all away on beer and over-priced room service first
Cirque de Soleil is a must. Treasure Island for "Mystair" (sp) and the Balagio for "O" (the water show). That is if they have the power back on.

Power is back up at the Bellagio. I know because I had to help get their network back online.

Vegas is fantastic!
I whole heartedly recommend:
* Skydive las vegas. They pick you up and see to everything. You can have a safe (ish!) skydive from 15,000 feet over the nevada desert, with views of the Grand Canyon and Lake Mead (www.skydivelasvegas.com)
* Helicopter over the Grand Canyon if you haven't seen it. It was spectacular, I will never forget it
* All you can eat buffet at the Excalibur or the Mirage - only $9.99 and fantastic. (While you're there check out the guy outside the buffet, he tries to guess your weight and if he's wrong, you get $20)
* Bungee jump at Circus Circus if you're into dare devilling (I didn't but my bf did)
* Monte Carlo brewery. That is great. They have a large brewery bar with real ales, live bands/music for free with a dancefloor if you want. and the food is excellent. That is where I ate the best pizza of my life (so far)
* New York New York Irish Bar (9 fine irishmen). Its a small bar with an irish pub feel and the music is great - lots of dancing and shennanegans (sp?) late on
* new york new york Piano Bar. Duelling pianos are great with all the old classics
* Freemont street - great light show and a bit different off the strip
* Circus Circus roller coaster ride - it was small but awesome
* The ride around the stratosphere at night - great views (a bit of a lame ride, I admit) but now they've added the new ride at the top which is hair raising.
* There is a mexican restaurant opposite New York hotel (can you tell I stayed there? LOL) which is great food and only 99c per Corona
* Last but CERTAINLY not least - if you're a star trek fan or not you'll like it - Quark's Bar at the Hilton. Its really cool and the cocktails are amazing. The food is excellent. While you dine you may be visited by clingons or quark himself.
I'm setting up my new scanner tonight, I might scan some piccies in for you.

What is your game of choice and tips for winning?

I have seen Mystair in Cleaveland, for some reason "O" gives me visions of a big swimming pool with a bunch of syncronized swimmers, have you seen it?
Sirona: Thanks for all those great tips, we will check most of them out while there.
There is so much to do and see in Vegas it is hard to decide what to choose while there. We will be staying at Caesar's Palace.
Time to pick up a video poker game for my PC to warm up, I hear video poker has the best odds for the player.
you must also check out the Buffet at the Rio. The only place you can get, Pancakes, Guacamole, Prime Rib, Sushi, Crab Legs, Pizza, Waffles, and a Giant Margarita for breakfast.
I love Black Jack, video Poker, and the dollar slots. Black Jack is really good to me though. And any slot machine with Elvis on it
