My son's are back from Mexico and had a great time except for the huge lay over in Texas flight to Chicago because of the storms and tornados there, anyway my son lost his birth certificate in Mexico and i am worried that someone could use it or should i not worrie because it is a different country. Is this something that could happen with identity theft? It's not like i can call the courthouse and cancel it.
What can happen with lost birth certificate?

I think if you were to call the courthouse in the city that your son was born, they could issue a new one. I think it is the registrar of Vital Records. When you call, they will tell you what documents you need.Maybe a notation would be made that the old one was lost. They I think would be able to guide you at least and be able to answer some of your questions.
I only wish someone would take my Birth Cert. They would be more than welcome to take over my life!-And have all the excess baggage too!-LOL

Ohiocowboy, maybe i should call the courthouse, he has another birth cert. Maybe if mine gets stolen i could get one that makes me younger? ( fat chance)
