Gwen and i met Steven Hassan yesterday, at a fund raiser for meadowhaven, (new england institute for religious research) a place where they help people reintregate back into the real world, after leaving some very destructive cults. we are fortunate becasue meadowhaven is close enough for us to drive to, and one of the only places of its type here in the states.

he's a real nice guy, and i have an audio of his speach. its not long, and is about 2.5 meg in size. if you'd like to hear it, email me at [email protected], or pm me here at jwd, and i'll send it to you. make sure your email provider can handle an attachment that size, most hotmail (free type) accounts DON'T. i will be sending it from my private email as hotmail won't even allow an out going message of that size. its from a verizon.net email address so you know what it is and whats coming to you when it does.

i was rivoted to the speakers, and after all was done there was no way there was a dry eye in the room. very moving, and very thought provoking.

That sounds like a great experience zev. Have never heard of Meadowhaven. I have read two of Mr. Hassan's books and found them extremely relevant to exiting the JW's and just interesting over all. Especially his experiences with the Moonies. Lucky you!

Very cool Zev. I was just debating recently if I should spend the $$$ to have a private session with Mr Hassan since his office is only about 20 mins from my house. It seems like a good idea to spend my tax refund on something that could actually benefit me in a major positive way.

I hadnt heard of Meadowhaven before, sounds like a great place.
