Firpo Carr stated as being an advisor for the Jackson's, but not Michael:

    from http://www.cnn.com/2004/LAW/04/26/michael.jackson/index.html

Some may have wondered why Firpo Carr, an active JW, has been called a "spiritual advisor" for the Jackson family, especially since Michael is "disassociated." Maybe that's why Firpo is distancing himself from the appearance of helping Michael? Your guess?

"Firpo Carr, a spokesman for the Jackson family but not for Michael Jackson, said the decision to fire Geragos and Brafman had much to do with the Peterson case.

"Apparently the separation has taken place because of the ... schedule or the case load of both Mark Geragos and Benjamin Brafman," Carr said.

Carr said it's possible Jackson didn't realize how much time the Peterson case would take up in Geragos' schedule.

Current defense team attorneys Steve Cochran and Robert Sanger will remain on the case and help Mesereau, the statement said.

    Hi Randy,

I've been wondering the same thing, LOL! I was glad to hear that Tom Mesereaux will be in charge of the upcoming legal proceedings and trial. He IS the best!! The decision to let Garagos "go" has been debated on today's reports.

Some say it's because of the heavy overload of the Peterson case, but on "Catherine Crier Live" today there were ah...um...different "perspectives" offered on it all.

The Jackson family seems to have come forth saying that the "Nation of Islam" has taken over anything Michael is near...even to the point of barrng them from calling or seeing him until after the next legal phase on April 30th. One of the Court-tv, commentators said that they wouldn't be allowed at his next hearing, but others who have spoken to Mama Jackson say she (and they) WILL be there...and it was then reported that it "remains to be seen".

Carr's name hasn't even made honorable mention in the last few newscasts that *I* have seen recently......but he remains an enigma nevertheless, LOL!

ANYTHING connected to Michael Jackson just gets curiouser and curiouser...doesn't it?

    hugs,

    Annie

I met Firpo going door-to-door in my neighborhood years ago. Nice guy, we talked for about 15 minutes, I told him who I was right away, and he said he had read my tract at:

    http://www.freeminds.org/history/whathapp.htm

Guess it didn't faze him much. But he sure likes media attention! :-))

What he didn't know was that I had just reviewed one of his books, can be seen at:

This was posted elsewhere and shows what political tricks Jermaine Jackson and Firpo Carr are up to:

    Hi everybody:

Michael Jackson's Brother Raps U.S. Policy in Iraq

MANAMA, Bahrain (Reuters) - Pop star Michael Jackson's brother, Jermaine, in the Gulf to promote understanding between Muslims and his fellow Americans, said Tuesday that Muslims are "the new Negroes in America."
Jermaine, a convert to Islam and dressed in white Arab garb, has been speaking about Islam and U.S. "adventures" in Iraq to enthusiastic audiences at Koranic centers and universities in the Gulf Arab state of Bahrain.

"I think Muslims have become the new Negroes in America. They are being mistreated at airports, by the Immigration -- everywhere," he said.

Jermaine, also a singer, told Reuters in an interview: ("I do not agree with the U.S. government). What they are saying about Muslims and Arabs is all propaganda and brainwashing."

"I don't think it is right for us to go to someone else's country and tell them what to do and how to do it," said Jermaine, who is a guest of the royal court in the pro-Western kingdom, which hosts the U.S. Navy's Fifth Fleet.

He disapproved of Muslim extremism, which has been on the rise in the wake of the U.S. occupation of Iraq last year.

"I understand their feelings but do not approve of their methods. Islam is a religion of peace. They are wrong," he said.

Now what does all of this Political talk have to do with Jehovah's Witnesses?

Well, even though this particular article makes no mention of it, Jermaine Jackson's partner (Firpo Carr) was right with him on this (Politically-Based-Promotional Trip).

Firpo Carr made sure he was wearing Arab garb just like Jermaine, thinking he might blend in. However, there were some reporters who made mention of his outfit and his presence. Firpo Carr even held a picture of Michael Jackson up for the photos.

Firpo Carr was totally left out of some of the articles presented, just as the one above.

Here are some threads, that (did) make mention, when other articles (did not).

Region of peace is a misnomer. I was there with the US Navy for 18 days in 1996. We were not allowed off the base. It was not because of the problems between the locals and the Sailors. But because the locals were blowing each other up. The was a car bombing outside a local pizza restuarant and two guys did not quite get their bomb attached to an ATM machine when exploded. These were attacks between different Muslim groups. Bahrain is suppose to be fairly peaceful, since it is their Carribean.
