My First Move As An Ex-JW

During my job career I had to move several times during the last ten years and came across Germany. I must say it was a convenient situation as a JW: you come into a brandnew city, go the hall, they receive the letter from the old congregation and you have ca. 100 new "friends".

I have a new job since December and to move more than 400km away and I have to say now it is much difficulter. I have to work a lot and hardly know anybody. I was lucky that my new employer paid my move - I lost a lot of people who usually gave a hand when I moved ;-) - as I did when someone else was moving.

Me and my wife have joined a gym now - I think we are going to lose some pounds. I am also thinking about starting a Recovery Group as I did in my former city.

But it is much harder to get to know new people.

I know it must be hard, but you will be better off in the long run. What part of Germany do you now live in? I used to live in Schwartzenbach near Zweibruecken. I was stationed at the airbase there.

Thanks for you reply. I now live near Düsseldorf.

I know that I am better off now. Just want to describe what it is like.

When I bugged out after 33 years,I didn't have a safety net like folks today have. There was NOTHING, no help available! The first step recommended by a 'worldly' therapist, was to toss all my WT$ Literature.

I complied, then on my own i printed up several thousand Counter-cult JW Bumper stickers and mailed them to every church within a 50 mile radius of the Kingdom Hall.

The rest is history. My infamous bumper stickers are still available online while they last. www.DannyHaszard.com
