What are the names of some of the widely used Internet providers? The area i'm in we use roadrunner or Aol. I was just curious.
Question for British computer users?

I use AOL. Not Always on Line but America on Line as I discovered much too late..!
Tiscali is very popular, so is BT Open World. I originally used Madasafish, then went to Freeserve, then AOL because I needed someone to hold my hand.

Thanks Englishman
I didn't know you could get America online over there. The others i have never heard of.

BT = British Telecom, UK equivalent to Bell.

Yes, "America Online" has to be the daftest name you could think of for a UK ISP !
We also have cable companies like Telewest and NTL but they are only in certain heavily populated areas.

We also have an extra key on our keyboards.

Well Simon,
we speak English in the States so don't feel too bad, it goes both ways.

Madasafish was started near where I live. I know one of the founders personally
Personally I use NTL and used BT and TheMail, before that.
When I first started out I used Compuserve (a looong long time ago, with version 1.2 of the software, if I recall).
