there are a lot of websites that have the scans that PROVE the watchtower joined the u.n.

it is enough for most to see this- however some of us have friends/relatives who are still "plugged-in" and seeing a downloaded scan ( which are a bit fuzzy) with a web-address from websites that are clearly ex-jw completely deflate the value - since they "can't be authentic- they're from APOSTATES>>>!!!--". are there ways to get an ngo book? i looked at the official u.n. website and can't find any.

(these are people who KNOW what a false prophecy is and yet i'm hitting brick walls,) my focus has been in gathering documents that show watchtower fraud and hypocracy.

does anyone know where to get an actual ngo book? any relevant year would do.

i'd be happy for clean photocopies of your book if you have one.

i am happy to defray cost, any info is greatly appreciated.

    thanks

You might try calling the UN and asking if they have books listing NGOs from previous years.

There was a person selling such a book on Ebay within the past few months - the asking price was a couple of hundred dollars.

    Good fortune luck!

    on a related issue:

"We cannot but admire the high principles embodied in the proposed League of Nations, formulated undoubtedly by those who have no knowledge of the great plan of God. This fact makes all the more wonderful the ideals which they express. For instance, it has been made plain by President Wilson and the advocates of his ideas that the proposed League of Nations is more than merely a league to enforce peace. They would not have us consider it to exclusively from the standpoint of politics or of military relations. It should be considered as fully from the economic and social points of view. The President's idea seems to be that the League of Nations which he proposes would stand for world service rather than mere world regulation in the military sense, and that the very smallest of nations shall be participants in its every arrangement. In other words, his idea undoubtedly is that the league shall not be established merely for the purpose of promoting peace by threat or coercion; but that its purpose, when put into operation, will be to make all nations of earth one great family, working together for the common benefit in all the avenues of national life. Truly this is idealistic, and approximates in a small way that which God has foretold that he will bring about after this great time of trouble." Hi jorl! and Welcome to JWD!

I realize you're looking for a hardcopy of some of the UN NGO scandal info. However, as some have posted above, all the valid information is on the official UN website, and remember, the watchtower society has NOT denied they were an NGO! The question for any JW shouldn't be - Were they an NGO associated with the UN? but WHY and HOW could this happen?

    Here is a link

    http://www.jehovahs-witness.com/7/71195/1127385/post.ashx#1127385

to a thread in which I posted the official UN links for 3 seperate and important pieces of the WTS NGO UN scandal. As well, there is a link to the original article from the Guardian (UK online newspaper) which exposed the wts involvement as a NGO. Just scroll down on the first page to my post.

There are other links too that show that the wts claim it was for a 'library card' and that 'we quit being an NGO after the requirements changed' as a smokescreen and untrue. (those links are not official UN links)

    hope this helps

thanks for your help. i appreciate it.

my situation is that debating doctrines is pointless since all my close friends and relatives are so into it ( as was i once) that no amount of persuasion or appeals to "logic" can work. only by overwhelming someone with PROOF that the watchtower is - at best- intellectually and factually dishonest can we begin to refute the nonsence that made put ourselves in harm's way ( not to mention irrevocable MAJOR life decisions about marriage/children /education etc.)

i am not entirely literalist in my views on the bible - yet i am amazed at how easily a literalist can defeat the watchtower- and how often the watchtower appeals to non-literal or even athiest scholarship.more surprising to me was how unfair and dishonest the wt was in the way religions' were characterised...

of course good luck finding a well-informed jw- if it's not in the LATEST watchtower then it's like "deer-in-the-headlights" this is a group that thrives on the uninformed. i was personally only confident enough to abandon it because of the massive amount of data available to refute the wt- if only one is willing to look. it seems you ( we) apostaes were'nt so bad after all..
