This word has fallen into such disuse (is that a word?), that I had to check the dictionary to make sure it is a real word. It's a shame when things aren't appreciated, so please take a moment to appreciate "consternation", and while we're at it, let's give homage to "perturbation", Badger (teacher appreciation day), Joyzabel (birthday), and dads who read stories to they babies every night. Also google for including a dictionary link.

ps. Bush is the worst president ever.

pss. This is the official smiley of consternation

    consternation

\Con`ster*na"tion\, n. [L. consternatio, fr. consternare to overome, perplex, an accessory form of consternere to trow down, prostrate; con + sternere to spread out, throw down: cf. F. consternation. See Stratum.] Amazement or horror that confounds the faculties, and incapacitates for reflection; terror, combined with amazement; dismay.

The chiefs around, In silence wrapped, in consternation drowned. Attend the stern reply. --Pope.

Syn: Alarm; fright; amazement; astonishment; surprise; panic; perturbation. See Alarm.

I quite like it's synonym "perturbation", myself.
You don't hear people using words like that anymore, like in the good old days.
Now you only hear it from the likes of HillaryStep, who seems conspicuously absent from threads, at the moment.
Me 'n' Bradley (Logansrun) have got a bit of a thang going at the moment. I think I cause a great deal of perturbation, in his life. I'm sorry, I really am, but sometimes life's like that

    PS. Politics suck
PPS. This is the official smiley for perturbation

Sesame Street was brought to you today by the letters C and P and the number 6.

    Hey,

I suffered a lot of consternation and caused others perturbation until I learned of sublimation. I used to have a sign on my tool card at Bethel that said

    Sublimate.
