Here's a gem of an article in the May Kingdom Ministry...

    A Means To Help Them

True Christians share in the public ministry of spreading the good news. As a means to that end, some

basic brochures, tracts and articles in 20 languages have been on the Internet at www.watchtower.org.

This Web site is not designed to distribute current publications to Jehovah's Witnesses (and why not?!).

It's objective is to make available to the public accurate information about what Jehovah's Witnesses

    teach from the Bible.

Recently, there has been a significant addition to our official Web site. This is the brochure What Does

God Require Of Us? in over 220 languages. Also, with the issues of January 1 and January 8, 2004, The

Watchtower and Awake! in all languages began showing our Web address on the back page.

How can you use this tool? Well, you may meet a person who seems interested but understands

another language. If he has access to the Internet, you can point out the Web address (JW.com!) of The

Watchtower or Awake! That way he may be able to examine the Require brochure in his native tongue

until you can return with literature in his language. Or you may be able to refer the call to the congregation

or group that cares for his language.

Graduated indoctrination, and graduated access to information, is a very common technique in all cults.

IOW, they can't have Joe Public having access to ALL their wacky literature because it will scare him off for good. So, they only put the fluffy, happy, feel good stuff on the publicly available website.

    Graduated indoctrination. Plain and simple.

This is their standard strategy. They print statements so they can point to them later and say, "See, we're not opposed to....(fill in blank)...." No doubt there is some fresh criticism about the WTS' open hositility towards the internet and they needed a quote they could produce to show they are, in fact, really quite edgy and hip once you get to know them.

    Correction:

This website is not designed to distribute current publications. First of all, it would eliminate the need for us to keep our members on a treadmill of going door-to-door with the publications when instead we could simply point people to a location on our website. And it would force us to close many of our profitable not-for-profit printing branches. Secondly, the information could fall into the hands of critical thinkers who could point out inconsistencies and flawed logic and would tempt former members to "read between the lines" and try to get to the real meaning behind what we say.

Rather, its objective is to make propaganda available to try to persuade the public that Jehovah's Witnesses teachings are reasonable and Bible-based, even though we show most or all signs of being a cult.

As opposed to inaccurate information from every other website on the internet?

Excuse me brother Service Overseer, If he does not understand English how can I get him to understand what the website address is?or how to find a book in his language if he gets to the site?

And also , if he should get to look at it, can I count it as a placement? Virtual of course

BTW. With a bit of luck he will just type "Jehovahs Witnesses" into Google , then who knows where he will end up or what he may discover

Just to give props where they're due... putting something up on the web in that many languages is quite an accomplishment. I would suspect that it's a world record, actually.
