Bloomin hec, I go on like this and I'll be so cleaner living person that day in witlesses will pale in comparison.

As some of you know, I gave up smoking cannabis several weeks ago, and to be honest, don't really find I'm missing it, was sending me cuckoo la la too much. Cut my drinking way back, this past winter, I was concerned that the amount I was intaking was getting a bit out of hand, plus not all the time, did I like what it was doing to me, and I'm sure others thought I was quite loopy on the stuff too, so, down to just a tinny a night now, 'cept for last night when I had 5 or 6, the post shows the effect, though of course, I did write that just for a laugh.

I got up this morning, smoked my usual hand rolled tobacco, and thought why the hell am I doing this, smoking me little cancer stick, even the taste of it is foul, disgusting. So, just now I thought right thats it, so I slapped a 10mg patch on my arm and have decided to give it a ruddy good crack at giving it up all together as of now. You could say that in writing this to all of you is my way of writing my own contract to say no. Encourage me if you would over the course of the next few days, and weeks, your help would be appreciated.

Englishman, if you come across a diesel van up your way for up to 525 quid with mot and preferably some tax, good runner, would you let me know? Theres nothing down here at all. I've checked local papers, ad trader freeads and admart and autotrader, nothing. Ford Escort, Vauxhall Astramax, even small Transit dropside, but must be diesel, please, please would you let me know if you here of anything? That goes for the rest of you Brits too, anything up to London, Birmingham and South Wales areas, willing to travel, have cash, can slip you a tenner for the favour.

    Cheers!!

What a blinkin hot, bloomin lovely sunshiney day!! Bootiful!!

Mark, well done. I stopped smoking cigs about 6 months ago and it was reasonably easy. I used the Allen Carr book which worked brilliantly for me. I'm still smoking dope (especially lying out on the grass in the sunshine) just until Glasto is passed and then I am giving up totally.

    Keep it up!

friggin hec, these ruddy patches aint strong enough, ruddy crap they be at 10mg, think I need the 16's. Already failed, smoked just two today so far, like diets I guess, start tomorrow. At least there be improvement.

Celty sighs and plugs his ears.

Just looked on ebay, one or two there, but always blinkin risky buying motors on there don't you think? Cheers anyway.

Perhaps London LOOT I ought to look at, or get a mate to send me a copy down. Tis getting urgent though. Or perhaps a peugeot 405 turbo diesel estate with towbar, that'd be just as good.

    Cheers!!

Whatever you do, Celt ... stay away from the dartboards. I had quit for a year & a half, but was on a business trip. And what do people do at the end of the day when they're hundreds of miles from home? They go to the hotel bar. A beer in one hand, a dart in the other ... just didn't feel right without a cigarette at my lips. And wouldn't you know it, two other people at my table were smoking my old brand. And I started up again. That was 11 years ago.

Good luck with the change of habits.

Celtic, it's not too tough..you'll be fine...

I gave up a few years ago now and hav'nt given in yet..though I do crave them on hot days in pub beer gardens...

When you said the patches wer'nt strong enough , it reminded me that I used something called 'Stoppers' for a few weeks; you can buy them in chemist's. It's a little box like a tic-tac box full of nicotine tabs which have a great hit! they really reach the spot-I want one now actually just thinking about them , lol .

you just tuck them in your cheek and they slowly dissolve. If I was feeling particularily desperate i'd tip them in my mouth but i'm an all or nothing girl-ive stopped taking and smoking everything years ago and just run or cycle obsessively instead

keep it up-i'll be checking on you...
