I take it you are neither DF'd or DA'd?
Do you want to sit through 2 hours of WT meetings, a public talk and a WT study, in order to associate with your family? Is this the only way they will associate with you? Will they be friendly and back off of evangelizing you? Will they make it an occasion to corner you and find out "do you still believe it is the truth"?
Well, mole, only you know if there is more to be gained than lost.
As to my family, I would skip it, too much boundary violating by some and shunning by others even though I am inactive not DF'd or DA'd.

Can't you just go to the lunch????
Why do they make you feel you must do both just to "visit" with them???
They should want to see you whether or not you attend their special meeting. That is unconditional love.

you can go if you want, but you would have to gag and tie me to get me anywhere near a KH again. If you don't believe in the JW religion then you are not obligated to go--just say you will come for the get together but will not attend the meeting. After all if another person invited them for a meal and to attend a non-JW church they wouldn't go.
