All my friends are becoming dads

This is a sign that I'm getting older, all my friends are becoming parents. One of my buddies just emailed me, telling me he might not be able to make my bachelor party because him and his girlfriend have to go out of town to her parents' place, and let them know that she's pregnant. Surprised the crap outta me!

A few months ago, one of my high school friends became a father. I also have another friend who's trying to get his fiance pregnant.

Damn! I'm gonna be the only one left without a kid! Actually, that's for the better. I wanna have a house, and a couple of years to enjoy my wife before we have kids. I want to have kids, but I want to finish up some of my goals before that happens.

When the right time comes for you to be a father, then you will be. Resist the peer pressure!

Just for the hell of it, I'm gonna post my response to him. For years, we've had this ongoing joke, he calls me "Grandpa Fusterman" or just plain "grandpa". We've also talked about the day when one of us has kids.

Holy **** dude! Congrats of the announcement of Lil' Hoopy! Grandpa Fusterman is proud o' ya! I can tell Lil' Hoopy grandpa stories!

As for the Bach party, I can't remember the time because I'm getting senile. I think 7 or 8:00 pm, but I'll have to check on that. I understand that Lil Hoopy needs to be announced. I'd better get my damn cigar from you!

    Nosferatu,

I'm in a simaialr situation in that all my friends have kids and I don't. No big deal though. I have a good job, I've spent the last 8 years enjoying my hubby all to myself, I was able to build a nie house, I have extra money to spend on me. =). Geez I'm selfish!

Kids are great, i have wonderful neices and nephews, and enjoyed having them around, i've never met a parent who did like kids,

having said that, i am 37, and I have no kids, and have no intentions of having any, and life is great !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

so to each their own, i like your attitude when you say, "i want to enjoy my wife for the first few years." , because once you have kids, those days will be few and far between,

    Good luck and congrats !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Good idea to get yourselves established and comfortable in your relationship with each other before adding babies to the mix.

You've got a good head on your shoulders - you've always impressed me with your common sense and wisdom beyond your years - you'll be a great dad when the time comes.

    Love, Scully
