If you enjoy discussion, the Witnesses may not be what you are looking for. There is no freedom of expression at their meetings as all the answers to questions are given to you in the publication that is being read together. One merely parrots the thoughts of the Watchtower society's anonymous authors. Opinions are not allowed to be expressed freely and independent thought is not appreciated or encouraged. Reading of non-JW materials is not allowed and a person can be removed from the organization if they do so.
I share these thoughts with you as someone who for the first time in my life, after 40 years as a JW, is finally appreciating true freedom of thinking and expression separate from their organization.

Thank you very much for your guys. I am chinese as you guess. I have been Calgary for 2 years. Before I moved to Calgary, I have taken bible studies with a JW couple. They are very nice to me and we have a lot of interesting discussions. That's my only experience. I hope I can continue my JW study and also keep your opions in mind. Thanks again. I will come back if I have some questions.

Hey, Calgary is a lovely City - we're hoping to move there ourselves.
If you are looking into "Jehovahs Witnesses" and / or studying with them, you should look into how Lawrence Hughes was treated who lives in Calgary. It's a very sad story but it will give you some insights into what they are really like and not just how they portray themselves.
On this site you will be talking to people who have all manner of experiences with the JWs, many of them now ex's because of it.

Hi Peng Zhao, I am Chinese as well. Are you relatively new to western culture? Sometimes people from another culture are impressed with how nice the Witnesses are and how warm they are compared with others, but what they don't recognize is they are associating with you for the purpose of their preaching work, and not just because they are nice people. In fact, one of their teachings is to be 'no part of the world', so they really don't have much to do with people outside of the organization in general.
Aside from that, you also need to consider whether what they teach makes sense, if it's true. Just because nice people say something it certainly doesn't make it true. If you want to enjoy other people socially, try doing this without studying or joining their religion. But as far as the religion is concerned, it's just a matter of being honest with yourself. It wouldn't be very honest to believe in an entire religion just because some of the people in it are nice.
