They have just been saying on the news that the 60th anniversary of D-Day will be the last major commemoration -as all the veterans are dying off -- i.e. the Generation that saw 1944 -- but this was 30 years LATER than 1914 -- when are stupid witnesses going to open their eyes and start asking sensible questions such as "Surely something is not quite right?"

Good point. I say that when we pass 2014, the 1914 date will begin to seem more and more antiquated and absurd.

Ccnsidering the generation was definition was changed amost 10 years ago they never will "open their eyes". Any time you refer to the ones that saw 1914 as the generation you will be "corrected" in the future.

And the day has arrived - June 6th 1944 - 2004 60 years on - certainly that generation (world war 2) is dying out -- CRAZY how anyone can still believe 1914 was the time Jesus came in Kingdom power and thw WTBTS was later given all authority on earth

funny i was watching the memorial day parade on t.v. last week. all the ww2 vets were 80 + and they said that they are dying at a rate of 1000+ a day! and i don't remember seeing any vets from ww1. the generation that jehovah said would see the new system.. you figure it out. john

I thought the same thing watching items on D-Day this week and after watching interviews with the old soldiers (the real Band of Brothers who the series was based on.) The WWII veterans are dying off. I thought I mis-heard the 1000 veterans a day that die in the US.

Interestingly, I heard that an in-law's grandfather made it to France with veterans this weekend. He just happens to be the JW elder that resigned at the same time that I did, over the same event. I didn't even know he took part in the D-day landings. He's in his 80s now and not in great health. But he returned wearing his medals and ribbons. I'm glad he has returned for one last visit and to honor his fallen comrades.
