quick question for ladies...about screaming

I was just wondering about the scream mechanism. If a lady is suddenly taken by surprise and is fearful, she's likely to let out a blood curdling scream. But that's not the natural reaction for men. So....is it a "learned" behavior? Or is it just "nature".

If it's a learned thing, then at what age? Do mothers tell their daughters about it, or does society just sort of "tell" women that that is the accepted response? When did you first scream?

I'm really desirous to know, this isn't some sort of baiting topic to stir things up. (it has nothing to do with rape, for example)

Onintwo, well, hate to tell you, but if I surprise my boyfriend, he screams like a little girl. I don't think it's just women, I think that it's dependent on each person. I for one am not prone to screaming when surprised, actually, I make kind of a growly sound, lol!!! I was also taught that you never scream unless your life depended on it, so if I was caught screaming while playing, look out! Guess some of us are screamers, and some aren't.

Maybes, Ok,..cool. But aren't there some differences in the screams? When a woman is totally surprised, I've seen her do a "eeeeoooowwww!" Not the "Help, I'm being murdered here" type scream, but more the "hey you scared me!" scream.

Also, interesting about your bf. Never heard a man scream, but I allow that maybe some do.

screaming although I have rarely done it.. (if you are talking a frightful scream) is just reactionary.. no training.. no planning...

slightly off topic: but aren't guys vocal chords different to womens... like when we get to a certain stage, our voices break and we can't scream. i know i can't, i can only shout.

I'm sorry that this video can be viewed only if you pay, but I've seen it and the guy definitely screams. It's SO funny!

His friend pretends he's getting shocked and the guy with the banana keeps screaming--yelling?--and when he finds out it's a joke, he throws the banana and says "a**hole!!" Maybe somebody else has seens it.

Maybe the difference between men and women is that it may be called "yelling" when it's a man and screaming with a woman. I don't know. I don't really care either, lol.

LOL - I've seen it and there was nothing "manly" about the guy with the banana - and it made it all the more funny.

It was hilarious wasn't it, Confused? The point is not whether it's manly to scream, it's just that guys can scream too, lol.
