Will Jehovah's Witnesses ever develop class consciousness?

Having recently taken a course on Sociology, I was fascinated by Karl Marx's contributions to this discipline.

If the bourgeois are the Governing Body and the elders, and the proletariat are the rank and file members, then it can be said that the means of production (printing, real estate) are in the hands of the few, the GB. The oppressed workers are the rank and file.

Do you think that in the future, the rank and file among Jehovah's Witnesses will ever develop a class consciousness and rise up against the Governing Body or its representatives? Or will false consciousness prevail?

Class consciousness in the Dubs is already alive and well!

Russell formulated his ideas at a time when Marx and others were developing theirs. Marx 'popularised' the whole idea of class and Russell picked up on it. His early writings proclaim the very same ideas of the class struggle of capital and labour as written by Marx.

The legacy of all this has been the interminable use of classes in the Borg Why, there's a class for everything!

Cheers, Ozzie (of the freedom lovers class)

Thanks Ozzie! I didn't realize Russell was into that.
