I sometimes think I study more about dubdom now than I did then. I found this piece. It's the Adventist environment that birthed dubdom. And in a qwerky way, I found it comforting to see Russell among his peers, just another non-prophet peddling papers. The Proclaimers book talked about some of these folk, but this shows the environment. Its theme is on Anglo-Israelism and a focus on Armstrong. Would a dub read this since it is not apostate, in the regular way? Or at least parts of it, it's about 50 pages.

    Deleted,

If you had read more before, do you think you still would have signed up?

Triple A, I had read some anti-witness books but it strengthened my resolve to commit to dubdom. I was baptized before Crisis of Conscience came out. If I had read that, it might have been different. But I was looking for something to fulfill that which was missing. I really liked the sister we studied with, there was no Hell, a community, morals, the worldwide brotherhood - ah, ideals. Glen

    leolaia,

: Why hadn't I heard about these guys before?

Maybe you were preparing for your dissertation instead? The latter would be a much more noble cause than the former, which is just a bunch of history about losers and morons!

Noble cause? Yeah, I guess.....but these morons have ensnared millions by their tripe ("Millions Now Dead or Soon-to-be Dead When This Generation Passes Away"), so it is not insignificant to study who they were and what they taught....
