Evenin' all. Does anyone have a good feel for when was the last time the BOrg used "millions now living will never die" in a study article and quoted a date (if my memory serves me it was a talk from 1918, forever quoted as a "look! we nearly got one right refereence"). I ask because I am writing "the book". Mine is intended to be black humor. In short the Ancient Worthies (the faithful listed in Hebrews 11) arrive in 2005 and not 1925 as (non)prophisied by Rutherford. My BOrg is called the North Atlantic Bible Society (NABS). It's coming along ... Glen The quote that recorded the arrival date "about April 1, 1925". I tried to include it but it wouldn't copy over, here's the site, it's section 8, find "ancient worthies" - Sorry!!! http://donaldk0.tripod.com/millions/

(1920 edition of Millions Now Living Will Never Die) Thanks!!!

I hope this is what you were after .

Taken from the 5/15 2001 Watchtower.

    Article was entitled :

    Stand

    Complete and With Firm Conviction

    ?Behold!

    The Great Crowd!?

From the time of the apostle John until our day, Christians had been puzzled about the identity of the "great multitude." The Bible Students regarded the great crowd as a secondary heavenly class, a group that had knowledge of Bible truth but did little about spreading it.

There were, however, certain associates of the anointed Christians who became very zealous in the preaching work. They had no aspirations of going to heaven. Indeed, their hope was in line with the public talk "Millions Now Living Will Never Die," featured by Jehovah?s people from 1918 to 1922. Such individuals would be blessed with everlasting life on earth.

Actually, Deleted, the original title of the talk was:

    w90 4/1 p. 31 Questions From Readers
For example, the lecture "Millions Now Living May Never Die," first delivered in 1918 and published in booklet form in 1920, told of Christendom?s failure and of the approaching end of this world.

    Later it was changed to:

    w02 9/1 p. 25 "I Would Not Change a Thing!"
IN THE summer of 1929, when I was two years old, something wonderful happened to my father, Matthew Allen. He obtained the booklet Millions Now Living Will Never Die!, published by the International Bible Students, as Jehovah?s Witnesses were then known.

Proclaimers Book p. 719 Noteworthy Events in the Modern-day History of Jehovah?s Witnesses

1918 The discourse "The World Has Ended?Millions Now Living May Never Die" is first delivered, on February 24, in Los Angeles, California. On March 31, in Boston, Massachusetts, the talk is entitled "The World Has Ended?Millions Now Living Will Never Die"

Nice pieces, Blondie and Lehaa! Thanks very much. I thought they would have dropped it after that generation thang. An important detail for my tale, thank you both! Glen

Here's the final word on the "Millions" campaign

    *** w95 2/15 p. 9 There Will Be a Resurrection of the Righteous ***

Many who had hoped to be among the "millions" who would never die have indeed died

DocBob, notice how the WTS flipflops back to the original thought.

    w97 1/1 p. 11 Let All Glorify Jehovah!

In the early 1920?s, a featured public talk presented by Jehovah?s Witnesses was entitled "Millions Now Living Will Never Die." This may have reflected overoptimism at that time. But today that statement can be made with full confidence. Both the increasing light on Bible prophecy and the anarchy of this dying world cry out that the end of Satan?s system is very, very near! The Memorial report for 1996 shows that 12,921,933 attended, of whom only 8,757 (.068 percent) indicated their heavenly hope by partaking of the emblems. The restoration of true worship nears completion.
