What if the Borg sent out a letter adressed to all Congregations In the United States and it said this.

    Dear Brothers:
The Faithfull and Discreet Slave in which you know is directed by Jehovahs holy spirit has directed us to request that you immediatley begin to rid yourself of any and all unnecessary material items, and we are requesting that all moneys from the sell of these items be sent to the WBTS as soon as possible.

After you rid yourself of these burdens it should be no problem for all of the Brotherhood to begin the full time preaching work as regular pioneers. You can rest assured that Jehovah will provide for all of your needs since you are putting his kingdom first.

Best wishes from your fellow slaves at the Borg.

HOW MANY YOU THINK WOULD DO IT????

TONS! But many many MANY more would find some way to fake it, "uhh the house belongs to me in trust and I'm forbidden to sell it",
IMAGINE how much STARBUCK stock would rise from all those new pioneer hours being spent in the coffee shop.

Yep, a HUGE Chunk would buy into it at least partially. Most would find some way to fake it.

    Hey Big Jim,

I know I would do it. In fact, I have done it. I have been pioneering now for a 122 years now, ever since my Buddy Chuck Russell got me interested. The last couple a years have been tough. Here at the home, I sit in my chair and drool a lot, but I have my magazines propped up in front of me for all to see. Fred Hall comes by to visit now and then. He is such a bright young lad.

I remember the early years. Me and my wife and our ten kids lived in a tent for twenty years. We were so blessed.
My wife Zelma passed on to the other side just before the wonderful new generation light came along. My ten kids are now successful window cleaners and all them now have their own tents to live in.

Well, it has been nice of you to listen to my story. I am hoping that it will appear in the Awake some day so others can see what a bright future they can have if they serve the Organization.

After they sold all their belongings, and sent in the proceeds, they would then have to ask what flavor of poison coolaid will be served at the next meeting?

Seriosuly, your question is not a stretch. The Society was pushing moving and serving where the need is greater back in 1973 when they published a not too disimilar letter in the KM. They said something about fine it is when brothers and sisters sell their houses and belongings and take up the full time service this close to the end of the wicked system.

I agree with the other posters above that many would give total trust and do this, while others would find a way to fake it, and some would also see this fraud and quit. - Amazing

I would jump off a cliff if Jehovah (The Organization) told me too.

I would sacrifice my children if Jehovah (The Organization) told me too.

I would sell everything I had if Jehovah (The organization) told me too.

These are a few phrases that active JWs used when I was still in the borg and going door to door with them. I believe many would follow suit but as Yerusalyim said, many would fake it. Sad to be so controlled by men.

Amazing, I remember those days when the Society "suggested" that we down-size our lives and pioneer where the need was greater because the end was so very close. I am so glad that my first husband and I were struggling to make ends meet with a small child and no real belongings. We didn't have anything to give up. Being poor does have it's blessings! Many did give it all up including jobs and education and now have nothing and are struggling in their old age just to live from day to day. No retirement and savings. After all, we weren't supposed to need it!!

I think that would be a great loss to The Empire. The greater majority of the Rank and File would keep what meager material things they need/want to make life somewhat comfortable. You'd certainly see plenty die-hards eating beans out of a can over a campfire under a bridge, but not on a wide scale.
After all they put up with, most jw's just want to go to a quiet couch at home and drown jehovah in a cold beer.

I definately think many would do it!! If they did, being as that my mother is a member, who is 62 on Social Security, I would sue them so quickly their eyes would spin!!!! Stuff like that pisses me off majorly!!!!

    Hi Big!

They've been doing it for years. However, with a little more subtlety and less panache than expressed in your fictitious letter.
