Many Republicans are so focused on the the financial rights of an individual almost to the exclusion of personal rights.

I would add these:
Repubs (conserve) issues:
* individual responsibility
* less government involvement with lower taxes
* pro-big business and wealth creation
* pro-liberties, but limit social freedom
* pro-religion
Dems (progress) issues:
* individual opportunity
* larger government involvement and more services
* pro-worker, consumer and wealth distribution
* pro-social rights, but limit "dangerous" liberties
* pro-secularism
This is just a generalization. Any more?

LABD,
I don't agree to the statement, because I see no fundamental difference between the Republicans and Democrats anymore. Republicans want to spend taxpayer moeny like crazy, abuse and twist the constitution, and democrats want to do the same. The main difference, if there is one, is that republicans are more into regulating human behaivior, and seem to think they God given right to do so.
