Yup, 3 Dub women. The 3 Dub women were driving up to people handing out magazines. I then told them "I'm sorry, I don't want your magazines. I had a freind that was DF'ed for reporting one of your ministers to the police after she was molested by them." They had a look of stunned silence.
Guess who I saw when I was on the way to Target?

Lee -- you really got them good! Silence is golden, especially for JW's. They don't often get the opportunity to stop and think about their religion in a different perspective. You gave them that gift, but they'll probably waste it.
What's up with this "drive-by" witnessing? I've heard of door-to-door, telephone, business and street witnessing. But "drive-by"? It seems like an easy way to count "field service" time, driving up and down Hiawatha Avenue looking for people on their way to the train or bus stop.

LOL, Jeff, that's exactly where they were!!! And to boot too, I saw an A-Fake and a Watchdollar on the pavement after I came out of Target. I assume those 3 Dub-ettes gave the magazines to some poor saps. To make sure they weren't circulated again, I spilled some of the pop (Orange crush) I got from Target on the magazine.
Anyways, you should post more often!

Drive By JW's? In SC, there were a group that did this every Saturday morning, particularily after the Social Security/Welfare Checks would come in. They KNEW people had money.
To be noted, this group of women (two pioneers & 2 others) would drive around in the low income neighborhoods, and would just drive slowly, taking turns talking to people. They actually placed a lot of mags - and got donations also.
I did it once, didn't like it. The people in the neighborhoods didn't seem to mind. One of the pioneers was 350 lbs.....so she liked this kind of service - she always drove as she broke the springs in too many cars. Nice woman and a LOT of people knew her, and liked her.
Oh, they loved to stop men on Saturday morning after the checks came in....good proportion of them had slight hangovers, and ready for a little repentance.

So people are taking the magazines and ditching them on their way into the store! Why would they do that, when the magazine covers are so appealing?
For those who don't know, Minneapolis just inaugurated the first link of its new light-rail train system. My wife said it won't be long and the JW's will leave their old magazines at the train stations. It's an easy way to count placements on your field service report. (My estimate for the average monthly magazine distribution for a publisher in the Fair Oaks congregation: 4 magazines door-to-door, 6 placed with RV's, and 10 placed at light-rail train stops.)

Every laundromat in the surrounding Pittsburgh area gets it's share of magazines any day of the week. I know a "bro" who regularly drove is aux. pioneer wife and daugher around for hours to leave the mags there. Most of the laundromats were actually out of the congo. territory. AND...........the majority of the time ........he had shorts and t-shirt and sandals on............He counted the time by just driving them.
Remember folks.......there were two WT articles over the past 15 years that said that our personal salvation was directy linked to the extent of our preaching work. Can you believe that? It was shortly after the change in "this gereration". What BS!
I wish I could remember the date and year of those WT articles. The last one was in the late '90's.
But you know what? At one time I was an idiot too! In 1989 when I started going to AA meetings at a large hospital here (while I was still an elder and drank to excess because I was an unhappy elder) I would leave some of the old hardback books in one of the lobby's or waiting rooms just so I could "count" the placement.
Sure glad I have a sound and sober mind today. I don't have the need or desire to drink to excess anymore. 99% of my problems are gone. The other 1% is so trivial that I never remember what it/they is/are.

The WTS tends to focus on 2 scriptures Romans 10:10 and 1 Timothy 4:16 to say that a person's salvation is dependent on their preaching.
*** w02 1/15 p. 20 Keep On Displaying Goodness ***
Our ministry unquestionably is a good work. It can result in salvation for us and for those who listen to the Bible?s message and thus get on the road leading to everlasting life. (Matthew 7:13, 14; 1 Timothy 4:16)
*** w95 9/1 p. 18 Christian Witnesses for Divine Sovereignty ***
Since only genuine Christians share in the preaching of the good news, this important work helps to distinguish the true Christians from the false. (Malachi 3:18) In this way, it works for the salvation of those who preach as well as of those who respond. (1 Timothy 4:16)
*** w92 9/15 p. 23 Jehovah?s Use of "Foolishness" to Save Those Believing ***
Like the preaching done by Noah, it means salvation for the preacher and for those who listen to him!?Matthew 24:37-39; 1 Timothy 4:16.
*** w69 9/15 p. 566 Overcoming the Pressures That Tend to Discourage ***
In some localities a minister may go for hours from house to house and find very little response, getting to speak only very briefly at some doors, meeting cold indifference at many doors and experiencing insults at a few. But despite all this, is his ministry fruitless? He is pleasing the Creator by obeying His command to preach; he is giving a witness whether people accept or reject; he is working for the salvation of those who listen, and some will; and he is making sure of his own salvation. Not a fruitless ministry by any means!?Matt. 24:14; Ezek. 2:5; 1 Tim. 4:16.
*** w67 12/1 p. 710 What Is Needed for Salvation? ***Participation in preaching and teaching God?s Word is vitally related to your salvation. This is why the apostle Paul could declare: "With the heart one exercises faith for righteousness, but with the mouth one makes public declaration for salvation." (Rom. 10:10)
*** w65 5/1 p. 270 The Christian Ministry ***These people of good heart recognize the Christian ministry as their responsibility and as a divinely provided means for keeping spiritually alive. They know that it is vital for their salvation as well as for those to whom they preach.
*** w60 2/15 p. 103 How Does God?s Spirit Operate Today? ***They cannot keep silent, for their salvation depends upon their preaching as Christ did. "For with the heart one exercises faith for righteousness, but with the mouth one makes public declaration for salvation."?Rom. 10:10.
*** w60 6/1 p. 327 Are Jehovah?s Witnesses Christians? ***They know that preaching is one of the things required to get salvation. "For with the heart one exercises faith for righteousness, but with the mouth one makes public declaration for salvation."?Rom. 10:10.
*** w55 10/15 p. 628 The Triumphant Message of "The Kingdom" ***
Each one knows that it is vital, not only to the salvation of others, but also to his own salvation to preach publicly, for with force Paul?s words come home to each one of Jehovah?s witnesses: "If you publicly declare that ?word in your mouth?, that Jesus is Lord, and exercise faith in your heart that God raised him up from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one exercises faith for righteousness, but with the mouth one makes public declaration for salvation."?Rom. 10:9, 10, NW.
