How many of you have not gone back to the WTS because of what you learned?

For many here, you left the religion, or got df'd, and then at some later point you saw information on the internet about the truth of the WTS.

You watched, read, and maybe were suprised at what you found out.

Had you not had access to the internet, and the information about the WTS so easily available, do you think you would have ever gone back?

I thought maybe in 10-20 years time I might need some spiritual enlightenment or something in my life would be missing and I would return, probably to the jw's but I always thought I would keep my options open.

Since reading only some of the stuff thats on the net (and theres a hell of a lot) I've decided that there is only one thing that would make me go back. To pretend it was the truth go through the whole shlep of getting baptised etc. and then start questioning the prophecies etc. to make an example of myself to show other people ie. my family, what really happens in judicial committees and how someone who asks questions is treated..

At the time i left there was no internet or really much info about the real jw cult. I was just something was not right about their teachings and the people seemed so fake. I just knew that my children were miserable and so was i and it was time to get out.

I wish over twenty yrs ago there was the internet with all it's infor, maybe my husband would have looked at it then and left with the children and me.

I left because of what I learned while still in ... long before the internet!

When I was disfellowshipped, I sincerely thought in time I would return, because I still thought that to some degree they still had more truth about God then the average religion.

Then I started researching the WTS through their own publications, and what I found changed my mind. Now I understand that they are nothing more than a fundamentalist religion that is as controlling as the government of the book 1984 by George Orwell. Mind control and lies. When the Society said we could shipwreck our faith in what believed, they were right because they are operating on lies. And once people learn that they leave any thought of returning behind.

Now I would never return for any reason.

I have not gone back because they are jerks and they have angered me by their treatment of me and of my family. I learned all I needed to know when I was there. They make it easy to not want to go back.
