Megalomaniacal leaders in the past have carried their entire cult to the grave with them, rather than risk ignoble defeat. The WTBTS is slightly different. It is being led by committee, a group of geriatric leaders and shadow puppet yes-men.
Seniors can develop dementia which includes depression and self-destructive tendencies. Nevermind their hostility towards young whippersnappers and their newfangled ways.
I believe some of the WT writings shows such signs of dementia. The rest sound like they have been written by lawyers, out of both sides of their mouth. The WTBTS is fundamentally inflexible, making it very difficult for the organization to adjust to reality.

Sad thing is with all that they have achieved and can achieve for their own personal gain, they can do so much for their members and others.

Good comments jgnat. Funny how you mentioned lawyers as being the writers for the WTBTS. I once told a golf offocial that the 'rules' of golf seem to be written by lawyers, he said, they are. Interesting.
