Walk with God 2004 DC
FRIDAY AFTERNOON
2:15 Are You Faithful in What is Least? We find here that some of those who survived the concentration camps of WWII later fell away because of materialism and immorality. The ?little things? include regular field service, meetings, following KM and WT guidelines, dress and grooming. Quote: ?It?s proper to ask what?s in it for me? and get training to respond in the right way.
2:35 Symposium: Hosea's Prophecy Helps Us to Walk With God OK, even though I took diligent notes on this one, it was the most singularly boring and abstract piece of the DC. Next?
3:45 Do Not Put Apart What God Has Yoked Together JW divorces are much worse than 30 years ago.
Advise for husbands: 1) Show in action and word that you love her 2) Earn respect 3) Cherish her. (That?s nice, how about the wife?) Wives: 1) Show subjection and respect, illustration: not like a dog who may not want to do what owner says but still does it. 2) Do not arrogantly change course like car with two steering wheels 3) Do not be inclined to make negative comments about husband, example: sisters talking about WT on intimacy, sister jokes ?My husband could certainly use that!? 4) Communication 5) Soap operas and romance novels could make mate less attractive 6) Communicate your ?intimacy? needs to your husbands. Mutual satisfaction will keep mate from wandering. If wives are giving quote: ?their due begrudgingly?, need to reevaluate relationship. Talk concludes with note: is it necessary for both mates to work? Being away at work for long periods a detriment to marriage.
4:10 Showing Respect for Our Sacred Gatherings
Be there and participate in prayer and songs, which are also considered prayers. Dress and grooming. Among other infractions such as chewing gum and rustling papers loudly, kids have been noticed making ?karate-like movements? while playing outside.
4:35 Good News for People of All Nations
This is the release of the booklet that contains a translated sermon in multiple languages. Stats: Only 20% of JWs speak English worldwide; 40% of those baptized at a Netherlands DC were foreign. The booklet is released in 3 editions depending on ?branch areas?. The US edition has 96 languages, others less. Features include: a highlighted ?What is your name, my name is? (designed to get name so as to refer to another cong/language group). Also a world map on inside of cover so that person can point to country of origin. (The map is not labeled, so study up on your geography.)
Keep your badge on folks, Saturday is coming next.
