A "highlight" of the newly revised "Good News For All Nations" booklet was the fact that it was announced only 1 persons in 5 who are Witnesses are English speaking.
In other words, 20% of 6 million dubs speak English - hence the need for the new booklet to deal with all the hundreds of other languages spoken.
What does this mean for future years? At the turn of last century, most Bible Students as they were called spoke English.
With rapid growth in third world countries, and decline in Europe, it seems that English speaking witnesses will soon be an endangered spieces.
For example, in Britain, there has been absolutely no growth whatsoever. More are leaving than joining, and baptisms are down by over half since the early 90s. In other European countries, there is marked decline in active publishers.
