Currently, the Watchtower Society is emphasizing obedience to its often obtrusive
authority. They issue tapes about "Korah" and remind their tired adherents to obey
the "faithful and discreet slave" (i.e. them).
Few faithful Witnesses would ever give attention to a man standing on a soapbox,
louding telling the public how wonderful he is and how all should obey him - yet they see
no contradiction with a group of old men doing the same thing with a printing press.
A brief review of the Watchtower's claims reveals just how empty they are.
First, no one in the Watchtower - anointed or not - has anything like the relationship
that the Bible says Moses had with God. Numbers 12:6 clearly says "Hear my words,
please. If there came to be a prophet of yours for Jehovah, it would be in a vision I would make
myself known to him. In a dream I would speak to him. Not so my servant Moses! He is being
entrusted with all my house. Mouth to mouth I speak to him, thus showing him, and not
by riddles".
The Society can't even come up to the level of those who had visions or inspired dreams,
they are only distantly empowered to repeat the 'riddles' of others who preceded them.
- and thus have no business elevating themselves above the questionings of others.
As to being prophets, the Bible clearly identifies false prophets by the simple test
that what they predict doesn't come true ( Deu. 18:22) After countless dates set for
Armageddon and 120 years of saying that the End is Soon!, how much more evidence is
needed? In their case , "You have nothing to fear from [them]" Deu. 18:22
As to their claim of being the "faithful and discreet slave" of Matthew 24 and demanding
obedience thereby, Jesus addressed the matter as a real question , "Who REALLY is the
faithful and discreet slave...?" . How faithful is false prophecy? How discreet is covering up
child molestation by disfellowshipping those who may expose it?
If the organization is beset with opposers and "apostates" is this really Satan's doing?
Could it be that Jehovah is actually behind this development? In ancient Israel, things
got corrupt under old king Solomon. So, Jehovah "raised up resisters" to this misrule.
(1 Kings 11: 14, 23) With scandals and cold-heartedness in force in the organization,
is this happening again?
The Society has long enjoyed the words of 1 Thess. 5:21, "Make sure of all things,
hold fast to what is fine.". What they never have enjoyed, however is applying it to
themselves. If you are reading this, you must make up your own mind.
