I might have mentioned this before but something in another thread just reminded me. An assembly hall was built in the bristol area of England around 10 years ago. It was coming to completion and a governing body member was going to dedicated the hall(how the hell do you do that!). To make the hall look nice some very prominent brothers wanted to complete the grounds by planting some trees. They were told by experts that it was the wrong time of year to plant and the trees would die. They went ahead and spent somw where between £15-20,000 on the trees. They died. Now think of that in terms of elderly brothers and sisters putting their contributions in and how there money was just thrown away to impress a GB member. I wonder what other grand wastes of money go on at Bethel itself?

Every dollar spent on the production and distribution of every piece of printed material produced by the WTS.

Which ever way you look at it, trees suffer. Some of them get splinters from scratching their heads...

Want more waste at assembly halls?
Here's a couple:
Money spent on kitchen appliances and facilities - because the Society decided not to have food service
at assemblies.
Expensive marble flooring at assembly halls - which some brothers warned against - had to be covered up
because it was slippery and older folks broke hips.
