  As most of you know we here Florida had a devestating strom in Punta Gorda. There is a District Ass-embly in Kissimee this weekend. The WTBS insist that the show must go on! The local population that was displaced by the storm needs all the rooms that they can get, also the rescue workers need this. But now they have 8,000 dubs flowing into this region taking up rooms (they had reservations). I told my wife that this will play very bad PR for WTBS in the local area. It will be interesting to see what spin the WTBS will put on this to justify displacing the rescue workers out of the rooms. Many of the motels were dmaged so bad that they had to cancel all reservations, yet many of the dubs are going without any place to stay ( what idiots ).

  They have 'faith' the 'jehovah' will find a place for them to sleep. No doubt there will be many 'fine examples' of putting 'jehovah' first that they can play out on future 'circuit assemblies' and 'district conventions'. Perhaps they can have parts on how aid workers were displaced because of religious idiots.

  Actually, the WTS already has a procedure for handling those who cannot afford hotel rooms during the convention. It was always hard to find JWs who wanted to volunteer rooms for these JWs because of the theft, destruction of property by these "brothers and sisters and their children." I heard many nightmares from hell. I guess the elders don't know what well-behaved children act like.

  Needs: The apostle Paul reminded the congregations in Galatia to "work what is good toward all, but especially toward those related to [them] in the faith." (Gal. 6:10) Elderly brothers and sisters, the infirm, single parents, or those in full-time service may not ask for your help, but they may have challenges to overcome in order to attend the convention. Are you in a position to "work what is good" toward them and offer some assistance? Christian relatives and the elders should particularly be aware of the circumstances of such ones.

  If a Special Needs Room Request form is submitted by a publisher, the Congregation Service Committee will review it, using the guidelines on the form. They should consider whether the need can be cared for locally. This provision is only for publishers in good standing, along with their well-behaved children.   Oh please!!! After all, there are many fine brothers overseas who have to endure many dangers to attend an assembly, even a simple meeting at a kingdom hall. They have to cross crocodile infested rivers, walk 20 miles uphill (both ways), through gangs with clubs, knives, and guns out on patrol just looking for JW's, and through monsoons, fires, pestilence, and locusts. Surely, those brothers know of the importance of regularly attending meetings and assemblies. What's a little hurricane?

  That is just ridiculous.

  If they really wanted to practice what they preach, just think of the "love for their fellowman" they could show, if they cancelled the convention, and instead pitched in with the cleanup and restoration work. That's what a real follower of christ would do.
