Faithful Today, What about Tommorrow ?

Faithful Today, but what about tommorrow ?
my relationship with Jehovah can suddenly change.
I remember an associate, who had a brother and on the same day,
    we got baptize together.
In the back of our minds we both had the prospect of living forever.
YES, WE WERE FAITHFUL THAT DAY, dedicating our lives to our sovereign
LORD JEHOVAH "but" as time past, he didn't last and even yes I myself thought I WASN'T GOING TO LAST.
FAITHFUL TODAY, BUT WHAT ABOUT TOMMORROW?

This is poem #2 I have many more I'll be posting I wrote all of them while I was a Jehovah Witness for 11 years and these poems represent how I felt and experiences I was going through as a jw. When I look back at what I've written, I don't take for granted how powerful our minds can be with what we Know and what we don't know. Today I know I don't have to be faithful to no religious organization,Based on there interpretations of the bible.

    Bernard,

Hello and welcome to the board. It's very interesting that you saved some of your old writings. It's like an insight into how we all were trained to feel, how we reacted to things, when we were part of the "Witness" program.

Your poem said "my relationship with Jehovah can suddenly change", and "I myself thought I wasn't going to last". Ah yes, we were well programmed with the fear of inadequacy, that Jehovah was poised to pounce on every imperfection we display.

How free it feels to not have this form of "imagination" screwing up life now!

I hope you'll post more. It's a good insight on "where we've been" vs. "where we are now".

    Bernard,

I just read your brief intro on the "Hello? Hello?..." thread and then both your poems.

They are, indeed, an interesting insight into the fearful, beaten down life of the typical Jehovah's Witness. Why we ever imagined that God was so downright critical and nasty!? (Could it be because that was how his "holy spirit appointed" representatives acted towards us?)

Perhaps you can lead your wife and children away progressively by asking them some non-doctrinal but pertinent questions?

Anyway, I just wanted to add my
