: How do you argue that point about different bible versions with them?
You don't need to. The NWT can easily be used to dash all of their unique beliefs.
Here is one case in point, you might find interesting, though: John 1:1. The NWT says "the Word was a God." Most all other versions say "the Word was God."
No, I'm not going to argue in favor of the Trinity. The Bible clearly states their is only one TRUE God. JWs teach that true God is Jehovah. Yet, John 1:1 in the NWT states that Jesus (the Word) was also a god.
So, if you ask a JW "is Jesus a God", and they answer "yes", then since there is only one TRUE God, Jesus would HAVE to be a false God. If they try to weasal around this fact by nit-picking about what the word "God" means, then agree with them. Say, "ok, so there is more than one God, that is not a false God, right?" When they say, "Yes," reply, "Then you are polytheists!" Either way, they are boxed into a corner.
If they answer "no" to the question, "is Jesus a God," then they don't even believe what there own Bible teaches!
Dubs are so fun to mess with!
