Years ago, I heard it told this way: 'Did you know that diarrhea is hereditary?' *pause for effect* :) 'Yeah, it runs in your jeans.'
An old friend of mine thought the joke was hilarious and he tried to tell it to some other friends. (btw...he wasn't the sharpest knife in the drawer.) He said, 'Did you know that diarrhea is hereditary?' *pause* 'Yeah. It runs down your pants.' guffaw Those of us who knew what the joke actually was thought his version was even funnier. har!

Gray hair is hereditary as well. My dad swears he got his from the kids.
As for diarhea, it is commonly known to run in your jeans.
